TRAPPED IN THEATER SELECTION SCREEN. PLEASE HELP!!!

If you can’t get BMS to load in a Korea theatre then I suggest you re-install Vanilla BMS and see if it runs. If yes, then UPD1 and UPD2 are installed incorrectly. Take it one step at a time. Vanilla BMS runs?.. then install UPD1… UPD1 runs?.. then install UPD2… UDP2 runs?.. then install Israel and so on
-
You need to make a change to the Theater list file
It looks like this now:
Add-On Israel/theaterdefinition/it-bms.tdf
list of all known theaters
terrdata/theaterdefinition/kto.tdf
terrdata/theaterdefinition/korea.tdf
terrdata/theaterdefinition/korea2.tdf
terrdata/theaterdefinition/korea3.tdf
terrdata/theaterdefinition/korea4.tdfAdd-On Balkans\Terrdata\theaterdefinition\balkans.tdf
It should look like this:
list of all known theaters
terrdata/theaterdefinition/kto.tdf
terrdata/theaterdefinition/korea.tdf
terrdata/theaterdefinition/korea2.tdf
terrdata/theaterdefinition/korea3.tdf
terrdata/theaterdefinition/korea4.tdfAdd-On Balkans\Terrdata\theaterdefinition\balkans.tdf
Add-On Israel/theaterdefinition/it-bms.tdfI’m willing to bet it’s because “Add-On Israel/theaterdefinition/it-bms.tdf” is above the comment line
Give it a shot.

Thanks again.
in fact that is what I did at the very beginning. I had a working install of UP2 and then added the ITO. That was when I got the problem for the first time and I tried the vanilla+theater installations.
Vanilla+UPD2 works fine, and I can change in between stock theaters without problems. it is when I add a non-stock theater that I can´t change the theater anymore.

Thanks Ram22. I tried it but no joy.:(
Any other idea??

Hmm, interesting.
Right now I’d advise that you delete the Add-On Israel folder, or move it to your desktop. Edit the Theater.lst and get rid of it’s entry “Add-On Israel/theaterdefinition/it-bms.tdf”
Then see what happens.

BMS launchs ok.
I can switch no problem to any of the stock theaters but I can not switch to Balkans. BMS still freezes.
It looks to me like a problem with the addon theaters. No clue where the problem could be.
Thanks again Ram

Does Balkans show up in the Theater select box??

Yes it does with the picture and the description. But when I click OK to change to it, it does nothing, BMS locks and I have to kill the process with process explorer.
I go to watch the EURO2012 final so I´ll be away until tomorrow.

Disable UAC if it’s active on your account….
Run BMS and it’s installer as admin.

jcenzano: delete BMS and EVERYTHING related to it. Then Run a reg-cleaner like AML-regcleaner. It helped me, so i thought it could help you to.
By the way, your avatar. Is it F16 combatpilot for c64?
Best of luck, and congrats on the EM:drink:

I’ll be away from BMS computer a couple of days, so I will try when Im back and I will report.
Problem is that I am not very confident on regcleaners. last time i used one it severely damaged my OS install and I ended up having to reinstall windows (and I hate it!)
Avatar is indeed F-16 combat pilot, but the amiga version which is the one I owned (actually I still have it with the orinial box and everything) I spent so much time and had so much fun with that game dreaming I was flying (I was 16 back then).
I presume your congrats are about football… thank you. IMHO your team deserved better

Tried those two things. No luck. Still unable to switch to any “non-stock” theater.

Not sure what’s up.
Try comparing your add-on folder structure and theater.lst to mine.

Ramsay, I believe you’re on the right track… it may be folder structure and where the add-ons are directed to…

This is mine.
I think it is identical to yours.
I am beginning to lose hope…

jcenzano,
First, create a folder on your desktop and name it, uhhhh, jcenzano, yeah that’s good, haha.
Then go o into your x:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Terrdata\theaterdefinition folder and copy your theater.lst file and place it in that folder you created on the desktop.
Next, go into your x:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Add-On Israel\theaterdefinition folder and copy the it-bms.TDF and paste it also into the folder on the desktop.
Now, zip the file and send it to my email. I will PM you my email address.

Hi all,
jcenzano have an mp. -
Take a look at:
C:\Users*username*\AppData\Local\VirtualStore
See if you can find any Falcon 4 / BMS files in there, or under Program Files (x86) in the path above.
If so, you have written to virtualstore and possibly have a 2nd registry entry confusing BMS.
To ensure your virtualstore registry is clean, open regedit…
Search “virtualstore” and look at all instances. Ensure no BMS registry is found under any “virtualstore” sub key.
Of course disabling UAC disables this functionality, but I’m not 100% sure.
Still worth a try…

I could not find any BMS traces neither on C:\Users*username*\AppData\Local\VirtualStore or the virtualstore subkey of the registry.
So still on square one.
of course thank you very much for the suggestion.
