Here’s the scenario"Strategy" COUGH…COUGH in PvP\HvH MP Server’s ATM. A bunch of VP’s get together on a giv’in night\day and fly up\down and bomb the Heck out of the OPFOR’s AB’s.
All they have accomplished,at this point, is rendering the PvP\HvH Air Campain’ useless. Might as well go play SP in your own Sandbox or fight the AI, if present, IMHO.
IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE ABOUT HUMAN PLAYER’s FIGHTING HUMAN PLAYER’s.
Well Jeez,can’t TakeOff to fight the BadBoy’s cause my runway is destroyed…Hmmmpfh!!!
This entire “Attitude” has puzzeled me since day one…SIGH!!!
This should not be a “Shock and Awe” doctrine.This is not REAL LIFE, in case you have not noticed.

Seem’s there was a LOT of damage to that Objective!!!
Now the Objective Status,after a 2 Ship Strike,has takin’ a hit.but the runway is still intact and useable by the HUMAN PLAYER!!! (The AI duz’ not fair so well ATM…F***n’ Monkey’s…LOL)

Well there is other stuff that puzzles me. Iv´e been flying a Balkans theater and bomb the crap of runways several times… Mission goes excellent target destroyed and when I check the base status it says repaired… Man those workers harly give me time to land… Is this crap normal?

I think you can set the repair time in one of the theater files, maybe the .aii file?
@Demer, will a 3rd party be able to craft a SP campaign in the Guam theater, or will that not work due to the way you’re building it?

Repair times are in the DB objective entries. Runways are set at 1hr.

Not using the .aii file ATM,trying to minimize the externalized Data that is thrown in her face.She seem’s better without it,at least with this .exe But,you are correct that there is an OBJECTIVERepairInterval in the .aii file.I think it is just a check @ some minute’s,to see if the FEATURE’s are repaired and then update the objective status in the list……CODER’s correct me if I’m wrong.I’m reading from some old code.

This is no longer true in Guam for two 3rd Line AB Objective’s.(The one’s furthest away from each other)
I did this to deny Base Raping in HvH\PvP MP environs and try to insure that a player joining the Server has a TO Point and Seat\Slot available at all time’s during the MP Campain’.
Remember Bro’ There is NO ground war ATM in this Theater or in the .tri file.ENDGAME is attrition of Airframe’s\Data Supplier’s ……etc. Once one Team reaches the defined threshold’s …GAMEOVER!!!
Feel free Y’all to disagree…but I think it best for your enjoyment of the GAME…LOL

Kind of optimistic… db set repair of airbase to 1h. One makes a deep strike/oca and one hour later the base is repaired, almost gives no time to land. So if there is no point guam to prevent base raping in bombing the lods are also made useless.

I’m confused……LOL!!!
9 out of the 11 Airbase’s in Guam ( this include’s the 4 Carriers) can be strategiclly bombed into the StoneAge.This is needed for the Endgame to happen.
2 out of the 11 AB’s are SafeBase’s for Human’s joining the server and are ignored by the AI Bomber’s as well as being almost invulnerable to Human attack’s.
These 2 AB’s feature’s are rebuilt instantly if damaged by Human’s(Good Luck gettin’ to em’ guy’s ). I have yet to see an AI flight attack them (No value\gain for them to do so).After watching,learning,helping build and fix the HvH\PvP MP Campaign\Scenario\Theater’s since BMS 4.32 came out. I am convinced that Human’s will be Human’s and will ignore\exploit the Rule’s of Engagement set down by the Server provider’s.Whether it be a single player or a whole VFS……it is the same,and only ruin’s the concept for the other kid’s in the sandbox
Though I have denied alot in those Theater’s, through the UI,Guam is more thorough in that concept.demer

Dave, a little OT, could you post a little step-by-step article on how you added your carriers to the existing campaign? Also, are there any differences, if any, in adding fighter squadrons to such ships compared to airbase?

This is how it work’s,the only difference in Guam,is that I have tightened up the “Point’s” on the Carrier Objective.So that in Take Off you spawn directly to the Catapult,in Taxi you don’t drive in Mid Air off the deck and in Ramp you spawn a little farther in on the deck so your AC’s ass is not hanging out over the water.There is a scaling issue with the Carrier model’s ATM (a little small IMHO) that I’d like to address in the future for Guam.Dave

Took another small break this week in Guam,while I awaited the BMS UP3.
Sooo……I started building Archer’s “Gas Station”…LOL!!!, at AAFB,Guam.
VERY Important “Feature” for both SP\MP Gameplay You’ll find out why in a few Falcon Week’s…Bet,he duz’nt give me .03 cent’s off a gallon for it……HAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!

(Note for Dev’s…you can see now that the rescaled Model fit’s to the rescaled tile, which enhance’s the immersion a bit,yeah I have to Nudge 'em a little so they sit on the image correctly…NP WIP…LOL)

A little experiment on “runway repair times”:
In both cases i manually bombed 2 different runways. I could have destroyed them in the editor, but i avoided that.
As soon as i did that, the closest available engineering-battalion had suddenly an order to go there, which they did (nice hah ).
In case of Seosan the engineering-battalion was further away from target as in the Yechon case.
The question was IF the engineering-battalions “trigger” a start-event to repair once reaching target, or do they just move there for “beauty”?Seosan:
destroyed at: ________6:40
Battalion at target:___13:00
repaired at:__________15:00total time:__________eta 8h
Yechon:
destroyed:__________ 6:30
Battalion at target:___ 8:20 (this engineering-battallion was closer than the one going to Seson)
repaired at:_________ 14:40total time:__________ eta 8h
Now, as we can see it doesnt matter when the engineering-battalion arrive to repair, because in both cases we have a total repair-time of 8h (tested in RP6 V2)
Why 8hours?
In the database we have (in RP V2) “repair time” 6 hours for runways – and – in the falcon4.aii ObjectiveRepairInterval = 120 (minutes)
6 hour + 120 minutes = 8hours!!Little experiment about links and pathes along the coast line:
Pathes (where units can move) are sometimes close to a coast-lines.
In case of the stock BMS KTO those are always inland, never in the water and made well,BUT:
as long a units stay aligned WITH the pathes close to the coast they obviously will not “hang” in the waters.
IF they change formation and are not aligned with the path, that 6k-7kfeet long convoy in trail i.e can “hang” with the half of it in the water.Summary: consider formations and the area those require creating pathes close to the coasts and rivers…etc.

I’ll try to explain this rather quickly.
A Feature Entity on an Objective must have this Value set to show in the Target list.The only avaible tool to do this,ATM, is LODEditor. I used to be able to do it in F4Browse,for some reason not anymore.Use LODEditor for now.
Once the Value is set for the Feature on the Objective,it duz’ not mean that the AI or your GBU’s\DTC are automaticlly set to Attack that Feature.There is more Data work to be done at this point.Short list off the top of me’head…LOL:
1.Hit Point’s…>500
2.Detection by LowAir\Air…40\110
3.Vulnerbility to weapon’s
4.Oh yeah, and this little puppy here for the Objective’s:Then the Monkey’s may go after it!!!..…LOL!!!
