Solved Cannot Select/Choose Flight Slot
-
…I forgot to add that when I click the F-16 icon to select a flight slot, it highlights, but my name/callsign never appears and I cannot click “Takeoff” at all.
-
A very unusual problem. I have never encountered such a thing.
Try reading this thread (posts from ghostdog)
https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/20431/mideast-theater-128-segments-for-4-35-u3/283?_=1637535696961He had a vaguely similar problem, the inability to enter the 3D world.

Any update on this?
I am having the same issue
-
@spbgoro Thank you so much for the assistance! I tried removing and re-installing a couple of more times. Still no luck. Strangely, the U2v4 version works fine with no issues at all.
I saw in someone’s post that there was a U2v8 that has Al Udeid AB added…I spent some time there and would love to fly out of there. Is there a link to download that version someplace?
Thanks again for your help!

I saw in someone’s post that there was a U2v8 that has Al Udeid AB added
Al Udeid AB was added in last U3v9.
Try this.
-
Completely delete the folder
X: \ Falcon BMS 4.35 \ Data \ Add-On Mideast128 -
In its place from the archive of the latest release “Add-On Mideast128 4-35-U3v9” - copy the same folder.
-
Open the text file theater.lst which is found in folder
X: \ Falcon BMS 4.35 \ Data \ Terrdata \ theaterdefinition -
Check that there is a line where the theater is registered:
Add-On Mideast128 \ Terrdata \ theaterdefinition \ Mideast128.tdf
Then close this file.
Example:
-
Start Falcon4 BMS 4.35 launcher, select “editor”> “file”> “select theater”
Check that Mideast128 is in the list of available theaters and select it > OK . Then close editor and Lauch the game.
__
As a last resort, try a clean reinstallation of BMS 4.35 and, to begin with, install only one theater to test the operability.

@spbgoro Thank you so much! I tried everything you laid out so far, except fully reinstalling BMS. I did find a crash log from testing the theater this morning. I wonder if there’s anything in this that could help determine what the issue is that I’m having. Sorry if this is too long for a single post.

I’m running into this issue too. Everything seems to work ok except I can’t select a slot in the campaign. All other theatres work ok. Will try to re-download.
-
@lugubrioushaddock
Can you select a flight slot in Instant Action or any TE or just not in Campaign?
Regards,

(VoiceClone) -
@tomcattwo I can’t select a flight slot anywhere myself. I uninstalled BMS and reinstalled this morning. Will test this evening after work. Fingers crossed.
-
After uninstalling BMS and reinstalling, then downloading and installing this theater, everything seems to work just fine so far. I also re-created my logbook and dtc from scratch after installing. Not sure if that helped the situation any or not. But I did save my previous .lbk file and copied/pasted that over the one that I just created. Hopefully that will work for yall as well.
Thanks so much everyone for all of your help!
Off to huntin’ scuds!

So it still works. It’s strange that this sometimes requires a complete reinstallation.

@budwyza
Glad to hear that a BMS reinstall fixed the issue. Who knows about the weirdness of bytes? Go get them Scuds!

Hunting scuds now!
I did have a bit of a scare earlier though. While checking intel for my flight, I started adding ground vehicles, naval vessels, and aircraft to get a rough idea of what I’d be flying into. I clicked “fly” and it froze on the loading screen! After a few minutes, I got kicked back out to 2D. Then I realized that I could not click a flight slot again! Then I had a thought. I’ve always had a ton of items selected so I could see a lot on the map. So I backed out of the campaign, went back in and started turning off the vehicles and aircraft on the 2D map. I saved the dtc, then the campaign and exited the campaign. When I went back into the campaign again, voila! I was able to select a flight slot and now I’m heading north to Iraq!
I wanted to make sure that I passed this information along right away! This reminds me of the issue with EMF back in 4.32 with the dtc.
Happy huntin’ everyone!

I’m having the same issue, unable to select a seat in the campaign. Had the same problem in a TE as well, though in other TE’s it is possible to select a seat. Perhaps it is DTC related. Have never had this issue before in any theatre.
-
It’s very weird, sometimes I can select a seat, sometimes not. Tried a couple of times to save the DTC, then the campaign and restart BMS. That seems to work. But as soon as I start another campaign or save game I cannot select a seat again.
It really seems a DTC or perhaps a logbook issue. In all other theaters it works fine. -
As one of the options.
Try to copy the data file for DTC. “ppt.ini”.
From a folder
X\Falcon BMS 4.35\Data\Campaign\ppt.iniIn the overwrite folder.
X\Falcon BMS 4.35\Data\Add-On Mideast128\Campaign\ppt.ini -
@spbgoro
Are you sure it’s the PPT file? I’ve changed that already but no success -
@bowser said in Cannot Select/Choose Flight Slot:
Are you sure it’s the PPT file?
No, it was just a guess.
-
I downloaded MidEast128, however I am unable to fly any aircraft/get a set in DS or other campaigns. Instant action flies excellent. I uninstalledMideast128 and re-installed but not good. Then I uninstalled / reinstalled entire BMS 4.35 but still no good. Can anyone help me as to what I am missing/doing incorrect. Rest of the theatres function correctly. Thanks
