Solved 4.35 Upgrade Advice
-
Greetings all,
Will an upgrade from 4.34 to 4.35 carry over my existing settings on my current 4.34 installation? I would hate to lose any settings (including but not limited to keybindings) that I have on my existing installation. Are there any manual setup tasks I will need to go through after installation such as joystick recalibration etc.?\
Thanks for the help

Donāt port the files directly but use the new ones and import the missing linesā¦
Please check the wiki to see the updateā¦

@maxwaldorf Thanks I will give that a try. I think I will make a new installation and backup my old one in case I muck something up. I donāt think I have my original Setup folder anymore in any case.

- Key / Stick bindings is the hard part ā there are some new/changed callbacks.
Use a tool like https://www.diffchecker.com/ to look at āBMS-Basic.keyā (compare 4.34 and 4.35) and youāll see the new/changed lines you can consider incorporating into your custom keyfile.

I donāt recall any changes in the ācallsign.iniā filesā¦ (this has your DTC stuffā¦ chaff/flare programs, and MFD prefs etc) ā¦ I think those can be copied over directly. (But use https://www.diffchecker.com/ to compare āViper.iniā to be sure.)

There are significant changes/additions to the āfalcon bms.cfgā file tooā¦ again, https://www.diffchecker.com/ is your friend

In-game settings like graphics and smart-scaling, and joystick axis deadzones, etc will need to be re-applied, in-game.
