Hey Mafia folks, don’t you have any interesting in adding some material to the official BMS?
You know, we have a lot of things that are kinda missing:
- F15 cockpit is porked;
- F18 cockpit could be improved;
- A-10 cockpit could be improved;
- F-5 cockpit does not exist
(those are the main planes in KTO for blue side)
I wonder if you guys would have any interest in that?

I personally am looking forward to completely refreshing the Hornet’s cockpit. Currently I’m going through and either increasing the resolution and/or improving the 3D presentation of the Bug pit. Eventually, we will be implementing a proportionally correct cockpit and all of the required switches (BMS variables permitting) to enhance the immersion factor of this ‘Other Fighter’!!! -

To both your questions, a resounding yes! Putting the Mafia Stuff into the main BMS install is not really in our control, but we are hopeful for the future. Meanwhile, we try to do “our things” in way that the Membership can do without being computer programmers. Plus, we have talked among ourselves about making installers for those who don’t like to mess with files and such.
Also, we are the BMS Other Fighters Mafia so we’re interested in all the jets. In, fact, we’re working on a couple of others right now. Please don’t take our current focus on the Bug as lack of interest in the other jets. There are two reasons for that focus. First , we feel that after the Viper, the Hornet is what most members want, and thus we can help more people quicker. But the main reason is we continue to , as I’ve come to call it, “build the infrastructure”. We’re learning how to use CFD and such, and it’s easier to do that and to test, when working with one platform. However, what we’re learning in the Hornet will also be used in other jets. For example, I am currently learning to use a utility Brother Musurca gave me to work with cockpit hotspots. My first experiment will be to move the HMD knob from Map Gain to the actual IFEI knob. That is something that is directly transferable to the other jets. -

Good Day, All, and Happy New Year. I wanted to share something we’ve noticed in testing in carrier operations. As you may have noticed, your jet may spawn either floating over the Flight Deck, or sinking into it. We’ve been doing some work with carrier Deck height. Meanwhile, a cause for sinking into the Deck may have been found.
I am currently doing a Iron Fortress(KTO) campaign and I placed my carrier to where it happened to cross paths with a small island. On a mission my jet spawned normally and I noticed the island was a good distance ahead. As I did the Checklist it kept getting closer, and the jet started sinking into the deck. By the time I taxi’d and was at the catapult the ship “ran aground” and I blew up on deck.
It seems to be that the jet stays at one height, but the carrier rises and falls , like it’s following ground terrain. That’s the layman’s view, and I’ll leave technical aspect to my more tech-savvy Brethren.
However, the point of this thread is , that if you’re seeing this behavior , move the carrier so no land is nearby. I moved the carrier offshore , repeated the same mission, and everything was fine. -

@tgw From pictures it seems that looking inside the exhaust it should be more “fire-y”, more yellow/red burning colors. Gameplay wise it is very useful to be able to clearly spot at a distance if another jet is using burners
