Solved AI UHF Volume (U3)
-
Happened to me yesterday as well. Not related to outsiders or distance. UHF knob turned increases volume, then volume goes back to lower.
-
Same, 4.35 U3 no mods in vanilla KTO offline. Edit: Just remembered I do have outsiders=all in ivc config.
-
Same here and reported by several of our pilots. While AWACS is talking I can rotate the vol knob and it will suddenly jump to an audible level but then quickly fade out. (I have the com1 audio mapped to a pot if that matters).
This is not 100% reproduceable in that it doesn’t always happen on every flight. But when it does happen I can make repeated AWACS calls and produce this.

Hi all,
Yes, same here in campaign KTO standard, Tiger Spirit, BARCAP mission. UFH canal 6 only, was very low at the beginning of the mission, no problem with the ground and tower ops (2,3,4).
Then, turning the knob makes the UHF louder, but after some seconds, return to a quieter volume.
-
Here to report I’ve experienced the same mentioned volume issue with AWACS.
-
Also experiencing this issue. Discussion on Discord indicated that it possibly doesn’t happen if cold starting on the ramp and only occurs after a taxiway or runway start.
Turning volume down and back up again apparently solves the issue but I have not tried this as yet.
Could others confirm if this helps them or not? -
@dougall Happens after cold start and turning the knobs doesn’t help.
-
Definitely happens even with cold start (although maybe not as much). Turning the volume down and up seems to “wake up” the volume but it only last for a short while then gets quiet again. It’s not completely off, just noticeably quieter.
-
Same happens here: No AWACS to be heard, no matter how to adjust the Comms volume.

I’m still experiencing this in 4.36 U1 (or 0), and using the intercom volume knob to “re-mix” the volumes (quick 1-click-mouse-wheel scroll up, then back down), makes it okay for a couple more minutes…but the issue is reversed for me (volume increases, instead of getting low).
