Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
-

@gbracer08

The DataAutoUpdate.exe within the C:\Bin folder is called at profile start and creates the Auto_Left.png and Auto_Right.png files in the

Documents\Helios\Images\FalconBMS Images 4.35\Kneeboards folder.

It can be run on it’s own without the profile for testing.

As a preliminary to that it creates a Briefing.txt file in C:\Bin\Briefing reformatted with all the tabs removed which is then used to extract the data for the auto-kneeboards.

By the way your Briefing file must be saved as text and not xml when you select Print from the briefing screen…

@linknet Thank you, I am going to try that now and make sure it works with permissions, admin rights etc on that file.

I believe what I saw was text, is there a setting in BMS editor for that. I checked in the bms setting and made sure it was text and not html.

I ran the task DataAutoUpdate.exe with full admin rights and saw it run for a bit in the task manager. It did not generate the auto_left or auto_right filled in. I also see the the briefing in the c:\bin\briefing folder and it appears the columns are now all spaces with no tabs.

That’s odd, try this DataAutoUpdateTest.exe - it should just dump the two Auto-… files in C:\Bin

https://www.mediafire.com/file/u7zg6coan6k0h4o/Data+Auto+Update+Test.zip/file

@linknet That file produced auto_left and auto_right in the c:\bin directory but they have no contents in them, just the graphics of the 2 boards. Nothing was updated in the helios/images/falconbmsimages4.35/Kneeboards directory.

The Briefing folder does have an updated briefing file created. I even deleted the briefing and it was re-created.

not sure why if the briefing is made in the directory the boards arent updating. Let me know what to try next and I can trouble shoot.

-

@gbracer08

Can you send me a copy of the original Briefing.txt normally found here:

C:\Falcon BMS 4.35\User\Briefings\Briefing.txt

And also a copy of the PathNames.ini file from the C:\Bin folder.

@Todd1215 Thanks for the info Todd. <img src=“/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f44d.png?v=1g16vn91q2r” alt=“” class=“not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji–+1” /> I did turn off the pre-flight check and Helios works fine. Which brings me to wonder, why include the callsign to begin with?? <img src=“/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f914.png?v=1g16vn91q2r” alt=“” class=“not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji–thinking_face” />

@gbracer08

Even stranger, nothing wrong with either of those, The DataAutoUpdateTest creates these in the bin folder:

Maybe the problem again with dot comma semicolon in the system settings of windows? I have disabled this function in the profile long time ago…

-

@Cop23rd
That’s possible but I thought I’d fixed that.

-

@Cop23rd How do I turn that off

-

@gbracer08

I’m running out of options, the only thing left is the callsign.ini file, or in your case that would be Fish.ini I think.

Can you send me a copy of that. Normally found here C:\Falcon BMS 4.35\User\Config

-

@gbracer08

Are you on a system that uses commas for decimal points?

-

@linknet no USA based.

-

@gbracer08 https://dennisspan.com/configuring-regional-settings-and-windows-locales-with-group-policy/

…you can check there…

@linknet

https://www.mediafire.com/file/cf9uln16pqztzun/Fish.ini/file

-

@gbracer08

Then just send me a copy of callsign.ini and I’ll check that out.
No need to make any system changes.

-

@gbracer08

No problem with that either, I dropped the briefing.txt and Fish.ini onto my system and I get Auto-Left and Right fully populated in the bin folder using the DataAutoUpdateTest.

@linknet
hmmm…only thing left is my falcon is on the d: drive
