GP bomb precisely miss target

@Gear5
After this, would you explain to me why did you attempt to launch non-guided weapons with the TGP aid?

i made a few run, it nerver hit, so i try every method i know to get a precise lock. but all fail.

Second. GP bombs - a clear WW1 and WW2 heritage - are not famous to be a precision weapon,
With best regards.

yes i can accept that mk-84 not as precise as gbu-10. but i wish it does not hit the SAME POSITION every time, it behave like a gbu now.
i hope the craters are spread randomly around the target.
this is why the title said “precisely miss”.

@Gear5

Have you tried firing the TGP Laser before releasing to get accurate ranging to the target before CCRP?
I don’t know if that is modelled in BMS but in theory it should provide more accurate info before the weapon release.

This is because the margin for error here is an altitude one, and so there is no other deviation in another axis, only your own elevation and what the computer in the Falcon assumes to be the best calculated release point (obviously incorrect, but consistently incorrect by the same value). Why would that change?

@SOBO-87 just try it, not work.
BTW, CCIP is ok.

@SemlerPDX so what can i do?
is it confirmed a bug now? and wait for 4.36?

-

@Gear5 did we rule out strong headwind / tailwind? whats your airspeed, when you release?

I don’t know what max airspeed the jet will allow the bombs to pickle… but maybe it’s possible to be too fast, and some nonlinear/transonic drag effects are affecting the bombs (or just on edge of envelope the FCC is calibrated to compute)?

@Gear5
I spent a few minutes on TR#10 (GP Bombs) at Kotar range… no TGP loaded but you can use FCR to select a precise target, which should (probably) have the same effect.

Test: adjust altimeter to current QNH, and set HSI course indicator to the wind-direction shown on the DED (hit right-arrow key)… then fly back and forth along that vector (upwind and downwind) dropping CCRP smoke bombs on the same target. maybe also try 90° offset (just crosswind, no head/tailwind).

It might be interesting to go in with radar switched off (silent) and try a few passes dropping on the navigation stpt (#6, I think).

Then switch FCR on and select a specific target on the range as SPI, then do a few passes on that. See if that makes a difference or not.

@airtex2019 what is the result of ur test?
i did it, not work.
i tried different fly direction, wind direction, target, altitude, speed, i tried to fly as stable as possible, same result.

@Gear5 I noticed the same thing from another TE , the bombs fall too short…systematically

I have just noticed something very interesting: if you designate the target with a TMS up in TGP , the bombs fall correctly …

what? no way. i tested it many times, never work.
how do u make it?
r u sure the bomb fall right on top of target? or the target was destroyed by explosion wave? (MK84 blast radius 550ft)

okay guys

just tested in 4.36 as CCRP has been heavily improved

good news is that the issue is solved :)

so be patient

@SemlerPDX so what can i do?
is it confirmed a bug now? and wait for 4.36?

Looks like it indeed is, as Mav-jp replied … (for this one aspect) wait for 4.36, but definitely continue to train on everything else. <img src=“/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f37b.png?v=opoh9i0f0lo” alt=“” class=“not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji–beers” />

@Mav-jp glad to know.
