FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
-
@oldtommyboy The program listens but nothing will execute. I found it helpful to know when it was ptt vs missed recognition when a command didn’t fire during development and even during play but others have requested to turn it off. I have an option in the upcoming version that will allow you to disable recognition notifications (actually it will be the default behavior and you have to toggle them on). I also have some more enhancements like remembering its window position.

@foxster thx, yeah i noticed it hears but dosent execute.
It didnt seem to regonize alot even when i i used ptt.
Took a long time to decide even though time out was set at 3 seconds .
When i had it set on global, it was working good and regonizeing most my commands.
So now i switched back to the global ptt,i,ll check tomorrow .
No big deal either way.
Thx -
@oldtommyboy It is possibly caused by background noise or a sensitive microphone. I get problems from my computer fan running high unless I use a headset. Just something else to consider. It causes the recognition not to detect the end of speech.
-
@foxster ok,thx
Yeah i use a headset and mic. -
@foxster ok,i reset it to global settings,took a flight, much better.
Seemed like when using individual ptt and it listening to everything,it just took a lot longer processing everything it hears.
Does that make sense ? -
@oldtommyboy yes, I’ll look into performance with individual ptt defined.
-
@foxster thanks , no rush here.
-
@oldtommyboy please am new to BMS, can you give me a brief tutorial how to set up foxvox in BMS? Thanks, with regards
-
There’s not much to set up really. run foxvox, make sure to use a headset with a decent microphone, load the BMS library, launch BMS and see how it goes!
“All” foxvox does is sending keypresses to the BMS window which you’d otherwise enter manually. For instance,
“w 1”
would open the wingman menu (“w”) and tell your wingman to “attack my target” (1), so when foxvox recognizes the phrase “two attack my target” (which you verify in voxfox’s log window) it’ll send the appropriate keypresses to BMS.

@Sniper-0 yep,what hoover said, you have to download the sample librarys to start.
At least i did,then open foxvox,direct it to the library ,open it.
Then start fiquring the commands out,not in falcon,just in foxvox so u can see your respones at the bottom of the page.you want to assign your ppt key that you want to use too. -
@foxster Nice job!
Am I right that the copy-paste stuff doesn’t work yet?
Also a thought for the future, it would be awesome if the library files would be in a human readable text format (xml, json, ini, …).
This way we could even auto generate them for use with different callsigns. -
@oldtommyboy where can I get the sample library sir?
-
@hoover okk, thank you

Here’s a sample library based on Foxster’s work in which I added the “weapons free air” and “weapons free ground” commands that were introduced recently. I also corrected the other menu entries which how have a higher key than before because of the additional command.
I hope you find it useful.
Cheers, Uwe

@hoover Thank you very much
-
-
@foxster How can I switch between the headset mic and the Oculus mic as audio input?
-
@Jaker sorry for the late reply. I’ve been away this week. Foxvox uses the active windows microphone so you just need to set the one you want as the active input in windows.
-
@hoover Brilliant! Thank you, it works perfectly!
-
Hey foxster, it’s been a while, we miss you I hope everything is ok on your end?
All the best,
Uwe
