IAI Lavi
-
Hello everybody !yes,
@ccc1tw, yes, it is surely AGM-62 !
I am very happy to post new work in progress pictures.
I worked all the day on my Lavi : animations are fully done and adjusted, and I managed to have a realistic representation of Lavi FBW.
Basically, aircraft will come with both OFM file and AFM file. You can see in the following screenshots that canards are not animated by simple DOFs, but behave exactly like what I found in the real aircraft.
Texture also got some updates, with a lot of additional details. Nevertheless, structure line and weathering are both still missing, but it’s coming.
I am pretty happy of this WIP, as far as I know, there were only very Lavi done in flight simulation !
By the way : afterburner is a fully new asset that I build, it doesn’t contains anything from my fellow devs. This aircraft is 100% done by me (including OFM & AFM, with the kind help and support of vAIcon.
I still need to work on a lot of details on the aircraft, I want to experiment some more Vray functionalities to have a nice render !
Stay tuned !

@Radium Truly amazing work!
Hope to see it fly soon in ITO -
extraordinary work Maestro !!!
-
@Radium “Jane’s Israeli Air Force” was a multi-jet simulator/game that had the Lavi. You might want to pick up a cheap copy at eBay to see what they did with it and their cockpit layout.
-
@Setmose Hi, yeah I remember that !!!
For cockpit, I am not on that stage now, and I have plenty of docs for the cockpit
Thank you !

Hello,
Refuel works fine !
I don’t think I was ever motivated like that on a project…
Stay tuned !

@Radium: Love that tail-art!
-
@Radium looks amazing, but I kinda feel like the top of the fuselage lacks a bit of camouflage, and maybe some weathering (ofc it’s still wip I know)
-
@Radium Do you have any pictures of the back seater? Never found any online. Thanks!
-
@parislord , yes, me too ! 115th Squadron power !
@Toot, I will try to improve the top of the fuselage according to the sources I have… I always try to merge what was done with IAF F-16A of IAFand was drawn for Lavi, assuming that no camouflage Lavi ever flown in real life. For weathering, I didn’t made any, it will come, as you can see, structure lines are also missing. That being said, weathering will be very light.
@Toot, for backseater, I didn’t got any yet. I did the same than front seater, with a TV screen instead of a HUD, like F-16.
Cheers,
Stay tuned !

@dema Thank you so much !!! You are so kind !
Enjoying Lavi with a light air defense configuration
Cheers,

@Radium: where are the cannons located?
-
@parislord big question and big topic…@vAiCon maybe you want to answer ?
-
@Radium lol,
I would suggest him to wait to the final product and find it himself
More fun -
@vAiCon sadly no, some of the info I got is either from Facebook (guessing you know about the lavi dedicated group), and personal research which I either forgot their links, used the way back machine for or have them saved somewhere
-
@Radium The best (unofficial) camo patters ive seen of the lavi was this one
There is also some strike fighters 2 mod that had an interesting livery, but i dont want to image spam lol -
Hello Toot,
it’s not a Lavi, it’s a J-10C.
That being said, everything is still WIP, and I understand that you are not happy with my livery. I will try to enhance this.
Regards,
Radium
-
@Toot Yea i’m part of the dedicated group of the lavi, but that group apparently doesn’t know much more then we do.
about your camo illustration. we are familiar with it, to our understanding, if the F16s keeps its own camo for centuries , then its probably working just fine, the LAVI is not exception, therefore the F16 camo would suit it perfectly (cuz its design is very close to it anyway)

Hello,
Conducting first tests with 4 x Griffin LGB bomb + Lintening pod.
From my researches and some retroengineering job, it’s the only way from my point of view to carry 4 x Griffin on Lavi. Racks are not accurate, I will later make custom ones this upcoming week.
Cheers !
