In the fog layer box in the BMS weather UI you just click and type in the new fog altitude?

Fog does not have “low layer” and “high layer” like clouds, through which you can set up a range. I assume the value for fog is from the ground up to that elevation?

Many thanks eveyone.
Solution was to recognise that the height of fog was causing this effect.
To solve, put fog height to the level you want ‘thick’ IFR conditions (I use 5000’) and have cloud layers above that level.
