I made a TE in gulf theater and the AI pilot drops one GBU-12 then wants to head home with 3 more left! In the older version of BMS once you call him for attack he would attack once and again and again picking new target every time which was something I liked a lot.
If you issue weapons free AG the ai will engage different targets as long as he has bombs
If you issue attack my target or attack target it will engage one target and rejoin
Please provide a TE repro case in KTO in case you don’t see this behavior
What kind of mission type are you using ?
that’s new, must be an U3 of 4.36 feature. I think the way it is set now is much better. Weapon free didn’t do much in the past. Thank you very much Mav-jp.

Please don’t worry here, dear mate.
It’s all fine.
He had courage enough… until his fears prevealed.
Falcon is the most realistic military flight simulation because has real life behaviors embedded, you know.
Thus we like it so much. With best regards.
thanks for the funny joke, I guess we don’t see AI pilot acting realistic too often.

@DaleTheRubbish same in KTO in 4.36.3

Wouldn’t be sure if it’s a true joke or not, if I were you.
With best regards.

Seems pretty realistic. Not every wingman is competent. They dropped the bomb they might have missed. Assigning a target to AI doesn’t mean a guarantee good effect on target.

Agree, mate - and he isn’t a suicide either, or most of all, better.
No needs to ask him anything about. To me.With best regards.

ko i think i found why, it’s about weather conditions,
if they can’t employ their weapons in good conditiosn they will likely RTB ,
instead they should inform leader and rejoin
will fix this

Just wondering what conditions the wingman would call WINCHESTER and ignore the fact there’s 4x good LGB’s left.
Thanks for any assistance.
OK
if a wingman has LGB but weather conditions does not permit to use them with proper lazing conditions, he will call “winchester” …which is not really unappropriate, i should rather make them call “unable” …
SO what are the weather conditions for beeing able to LAZE
- IF weather type is POOR or INCLEMENT
if the cloud layer is below 5000ft above ground (reference dynamic IP), this is NO LAZE CONDITION
- IF weather type is FAIR
if the cloud density is above 6/8 and the cloud layer is below 5000ft above ground (reference dynamic IP), this is NO LAZE CONDITION
FOR TV weapons, the ceiling is 3000 ft by the way

coud you provide a repro case please
yes I think “unable” is better than “winchester” for a bad lazing condition. By the way, weapons free, or attack targets will do the same as the first option. He will attack once then say “out” which means he is gone home. I have the file but how can I send it?

“out” does not mean he is going home
“out” means he is egressing to its IP
When reached the IP
- if you ordered weapons Free AG : he will re engage and call “IN”
- if you ordered 'attack targets or my targets" he will rejoin you in formation
-
okay next BMS iteration should have this solved
in case weather does not permit the use of some weapons, the AI will call 'unable no joy" , and it will not RTB but rejoin

make sure your weapons are adapted with weather conditions, see above

yes indeed when he said out he just went farther from target (not as far as IP) and then came back to attack targets of interest. Used up all the GBU-12s until he was winchester. But still I noticed a strange behavior, on our way to target I placed SA-6 & SA-2 and he had two HARMs in addition to the GBU-12s. I had him shoot the SAs & he did. But after shooting he would fly back as far as the refueling waypoint then come back to rejoin! why would he go that far after shooting the HARM? why not just stay close

-
@Mav-jp
'ddya mean, not a factor, for BMS or in general?(as in general) Dense fog/mist should be a serious one (factor), you might even get IR imaging through (as IR is also degraded) - if really close, but also laser ranging/targeting should be seriously impacted.
Vapor (water?) cloud is primary defense in denying laser ranging (and or targeting) for ground vehicles, tanks, apc’s… anti-SALH.
Form (dense) mist/fog, one should not expect any different. That would correspond for VERY POOR weather conditions, visibility <100m. , so you clearly, won’t be using LGB’s or even not fly at all
Jokes aside, so, I don’t believe that even modern TGP’s can “break” that nature barrier. - I might be wrong here… it is my opinion.
Not arguing, just 2kopeyke
