Hello Morphine!
I’m in the process of familiarizing & memorizing your profile. Previously I used CH products, now transitioning to the TM Warthog HOTAS. I’m having an issue trying to figure out why Autopilot Engage/Disengage button selects the LIGHTNING-Instrument Light Toggle as well as Parking Brake. How may I change this plz?
Additionally, is there a way to keep the Advanced Options settings vs. resetting them each time I enter the sim?
Thx very much!

My only guess is that you are using a .key file that assigns the LIGHTNING-Instrument Light Toggle and Parking Brake to the same keystroke. Make sure you are using the keystroke file I provided or edit the one you are using (using an external text editor) to remove the duplicate.
Additionally, is there a way to keep the Advanced Options settings vs. resetting them each time I enter the sim?
To stop that from happening you have to make sure the TARGET Script is running before starting BMS. Alternatively, some people have had success by making the axismapping.dat and joystick.cal files read only (they are located in your bms/user/config directory).

I wanted to ask how active profile on the vertical scan mode Dogfight.
First, keep in mind that the profile often does not send specific keystrokes (e.g. CRTL+F8 ) but rather provides the functionality of the various buttons, such as the TMS button, whose functions are often Mode Dependent (i.e. does something different if you are in Dogfight Mode with the ACM radar versus MRM Mode with the RWS Radar).
So to access the Vertical Scan mode (or called the 10x60 mode shown as “60” on your ACM radar) you would first have to be in Dogfight Mode by moving the Dogfight switch Forward and then move the TMS Down twice. First DMS down changes it from BORE to ACM 30x20 and second TMS Down toggles it to 10x60. Just a note that if the Radar is in Standby in the 30x20 or 10x60 scan you can move it out of Standby by TMS-Right.

Hello Morphine!
Still using your profile but I’ve made a few changes that by now I cannot remember. Also using a customized .key file. My last post was on May this year so I’m not sure if I am using the “updated” version 2 or the “original” version 2 of your profile. Anyway, with all the changes I’ve made to my setup, I am hesitant to simply throw in anything new for fear of messing things up.
However, I am now in the stage of learning about flameouts and doing flamout landings and in-air restarts. It was hilarous when Kite and I went up for a flight to test this out, and I found out that I apparently have an F-16 with an “auto-engine restart” feature. I tried turning the engine off by flicking the Master Fuel switch to off and the engine would spool down, instruments go blank, etc…. but when I flick the switch back on, the engine starts back up, even with the throttle on full/half/idle/detent position. It doesn’t matter which position the throttle is in, it’ll restart the engine. Same issue when the Engine Feed knob turned to off and doing a negative-G maneuver… it’ll shut the engine off, but once I am in a position that would feed fuel back to the engine, it starts up. Also, lifting the throttle from Off to Idle does not kill the engine.
The only time the engine did stay off was when I landed, turned it off, and waited for the RPM to decay past 20%.
Any help appreciated!
PS - I’m also hoping to change the throttle hat switch to different views, but I’m not sure what it’s called in your .tmc file… Thanks!
-
Morphine was kind enough to give me a call and spent almost an hour troubleshooting my .tmc file to get it to work… brilliant support! Thanks very much for the help Morphine!
Now if only there was a way to control the coffeemaker machine downstairs with a shifted-button command…

Morphine Hello, I would like to ask how to release smoke from the plane. I saw that it should be the “S” key on the keyboard marked “Smoke Toogle.”
I’ve noticed that does not work, why? -
Ctrl + S
RAM22
-
It is the “S” key on Morphine’s .key file, not CTRL+S. Working for me.

how does one switch back to A/A mode using this profile after switching to A/G mode?
-
Um, press the AA button on the ICP? How’d you get to A/G mode in the first place? I don’t think there is a HOTAS function for that, you have to use the ICP, right?
-
if you hold the mapped shift button and press TMS up you will be in A/G mode. was just wondering if there was a key that i was missing to get back into A/A mode instead of using the ICP

Assuming you are using my keyfile (Warthog_DX.key), then what you are referring to is pressing Shift-TMS DOWN which cycles A/G Weapons (if different ones are loaded)and if you are in NAV or A/A mode will also take you directly into A/G Mode. It is not a realistic function of the TMS (none of the Shifted functions are) but is included for convenience. As mentioned by Ice in order to get back to NAV mode you would need to press the A/G button on the ICP or to get to A/A, you would need to press A/A on the ICP.

Hi There
I’m having an issue getting the CMD to work propertly. I’ve loaded the DX keys and set up everything on my new Wart Hog. At the moment the CMD switch does nothing. Did I miss a mapping?

Do you mean the CMS hat functions are not working? Can you be a bit more specific about the problem?
-
Hey Morphine,
Thanks for posting back. That is correct the CMS Hat funtions are mapped in the sim but they don’t do anything. I’ve loaded your keys file and in looking at the mapping CMS is mapped to nothing in terms of keys it looks like DX functions. The CMS hat does nothing in the sim. I’ve played around with the different modes and nothing. Perhaps I’m missing something. I’m a little new to the Warthog. I’m used to the Cougar.

You are correct that the CMS is controlled by the Warthog_DX.key file. The TARGET script just leaves them as DX buttons.
Let’s first check that you don’t have a hardware issue with your Stick. Start the script using the TARGET Script Editor and then start the Device Analyzer (it’s in the Tools menu of the Script Editor). With the Device Analyzer running, when you move your CMS, you should see DX buttons 15-18 light up on both the Joystick (on the left side) and the Thrustmaster - Combined device (in the middle). If you don’t see that, then you may have a problem with your hardware.
If the DX buttons on the Stick are working, then you should look in the Warthog_DX.key file and make sure the following lines are in there.
CMS/H4/Z-Axis
SimCMSUp 14 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
SimCMSRight 15 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
SimCMSDown 16 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
SimCMSLeft 17 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
SimSlapSwitch 18 -1 -2 0 0x0 0Also, remember for it to work in the sim, you have to make sure the CMDS is powered on correctly, and all settings set properly. For example, to manually dispense Chaff and or Flares, you need to have the correct program selected. Refer to the BMS Dash-1 for instructions.

Confirmed: Both the Joystick and the Combined Device are working properly and buttons 15-18 are lighting up while running the profile.

The CMD DX appears to be correct within the key file. I will copy it over again clean and reload just to make sure I didn’t touch or corrupt the file but I really don’t think that’s the case.
To be honest it could be user error as I’ve been away from Falcon for some time and a bit new to BMS however I’ve been testing in Instant Action which should have the CMS properly powered. Also it doesn’t matter which program I use or if it’s in Manual Semi or Auto. I will check out the Dash 1 again.
