Question about system requirements.
-
Hi all! I have this question.
Currently i fly with Falcon BMS 4.34.
My PC config is: i3 9100f 4.20GHz / 16GB RAM / GTX 1650 Super 4GB.
FPS are very good now.
If i change from 4.34 to 4.36, may i have some FPS issues with my current PC setup?
Thanks to those who can clarify my doubt. -
@fede_tank Even if you would, you can always lower some settings or return to your current version.

@fede_tank There is no “change” to 4.36, 4.34 will remain as-is in its program folder … both are standalone programs that operate out of their own program folders. You can merely install Falcon BMS 4.36 (and update to current minor version patch U1 - U3) and fire it up. Then, close it down and fire up 4.34 again to see if FPS were different or worse - if so, you can just keep playing 4.34.
I still have BMS 4.34 and 4.35 installed, and of course the latest, 4.36. *(If they took up more than a few GB, I might be motivated to be less lazy and remove them, haven’t really went back to fly the old versions since, but don’t mind leaving them around)

@fede_tank You might have a bit lower FPS, but it will certainly be playable. Check my specs in signature, I never had a moment when I thought “OH SHIT I NEED MORE FPS”.
Of course, it’s still a subjective thing, but still.

@fede_tank Probably fine. Upgrading to a six-core i5 someday soon, is worth the price diff.
Two weird tips for quad-core CPU gamers…

For Win10 and later, and Nvidia 10-series and later… consider turning on HAGS to offload some work from CPU core to your GPU.

Try constraining BMS to run on 3 cores: #1-3. Sounds counterintuitive but 3 is usually enough and leaves core #0 open and unblocked for kernel, device drivers, and other stuff on your system (audio? trackIR?)
You can do this on-the-fly with TaskMgr, to experiment…
Or you can make a desktop-shortcut to launch BMS this way…
Quad-core without hyperthreading =>
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c start /affinity 0x0E "BMS" "C:\Falcon BMS 4.36\Bin\x64\Falcon BMS.exe" -window -nomovie
Eight core, or Quad-core with hyperthreading =>
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c start /affinity 0xFC "BMS" "C:\Falcon BMS 4.36\Bin\x64\Falcon BMS.exe" -window -nomovie
