Solved Axis mapping gets lost in 4.37

the initial few minutes in 3D works, then I start losing different shifted bindings to my X52 HOTAS, like landing gear, returning to inside view from outside, etc. works great in 4.36. 4.37 does not seem to be very stable.
I definitely haven’t heard anyone else say they’re losing bindings in-flight. Is it just the X52 or also keyboard?
Do you still have 4.36 installed? Maybe spend 10 min flying around to double-verify it’s not happening there too? It really sounds like some sort of hardware problem. (I can literally unplug and replug my hotas in mid-flight, and all is ok.)

I started using AL yesterday and I’m having the same issue (stuff looks good in BMS 2d but stops working in 3d).
However, using the “classic” launcher and my lovingly hand-crafted key file, everything works fine and nothing is lost when entering 3d in 4.37, so without assigning blame I would wager it’s an AL problem (maybe in conjunction with BMS and the ridiculously large DX pinky shift in use with AL when you have multiple devices connected).

… how to expect console jockey dudes operate (fight) in electrical jet if not able to “handcraft” their own key-file in eg.Npp++ … eh?

I never know what troubleshooting question to ask you @hoover… I have to start with “is this Linux or Windows”?
If you want to share your BMS-Auto.key file (https://pastebin or something) I will give it a scan. It’s conceivable something in there is horking BMS when it tries to parse. I think back in 4.35 days I horked it with some accidental unicode dash chars in the string-description text of one of the callbacks. (But iirc that crashed on the 2D setup screen, not just 3D.)
Curious, what happens if you leave your POP file etc set to BMS-Auto.key and all the recent output of AL… but leave AL off – just launch FalconBMS.exe directly. Still same problem?

As for the “horking”, everything works fine in BMS 2D setup, things go haywire only when I enter the 3d world.

PS: When running the AL setup using the classic launcher with the BMS - Auto keyfile, nothing works in BMS 2d setup except the axis. The Stick starts at DX 64 which would explain why none of the assignments in the auto keyfile work.

Hey folks,
I’m sorry. It turned out that the AL “issues” were entirely my fault.
o I had assigned the china hat wrongly (range knob incr / decr. instead of ant elev tilt up / down)
o I had not assigned the MFD buttons for MFDs 1 & 2 (somehow I thought this would happen automatically as I was fooled by the AL naming of the MFDs).
o LG toggle does not show up in BMS 2d setup, but apparently works just fine in 3d (weird!)
So sorry again for the noise about AL on an “issue” that can only be blamed on a genuine “layer 8” - malfunction
I have now assigned all remaining buttons on the MFDs and did a few instant action test flights, all looking good so far. As a bonus I found that finally the coolie hat on the warthog throttle works too!

Thanks…I’m the problem! I have been launching the Alt Launcher and then setting up the controls the old way and that does not work…I must use either the alt launcher (control assignments/key file mapping) or the old exec launch command and old way of assigning controls and key files. Hard for us old soldiers to learn new procedures….looking forward to using 4.37’s full functionality…the improvements are impressive! -

Assuming new launcher is used it should be 128 + shifted mode.
