thanks for your time Ice !
just one thing I am not sure about…
I obviously cant downgrade the version on the Ipad, and I am not sure how it would work with a 5.6 on the PC and a IPad app in 5.7…
I confirm. everything is still working though. the switches just dont move visually anymore.
-
Yeah, no idea about downgrading the iPad version, but I lost the old version when the new iOS came out, so I got stuck with the new version now. However, if the switches aren’t animating on 5.7 and the same issue arises with 5.6.0, then something is definitely wrong somewhere. However, I’ve not touched this program in months so I’ve sent Dave an email asking why this is happening. If he can give me a straight answer, I’ll see what needs to be done to fix it. Having a working iPad switch but having to visually confirm in the cockpit is a pain.
Are you still having that connection problems with 5.6.0?
-
I worked out my connection problems. It was not Touch control or I fly BMS related, but networking related.
However, I am now stuck in 5.7 version, and of course, the switches are not animated anymore ! It would be great if we could work this out !
I could downgrade the server version, but of course not the Ipad app….

Hey Shung! Dave just got back to me and he confirms it is a problem with the iPad-side of TouchControl. PM me your email address and we’ll sort you out with a temporary “beta” version that should fix the problems.
-
Awesome !!!
PM sent !
thank you for your support !

Hi I tried to get this nice tool working on my Ipad2. The installation runs well, server is up, connection between server and client is okay. When I start a resync the tool copies all the needed switches and graphics. When I enter the tool on my Ipad the trouble begins. Missing fields and no way to leave any section, there are no buttons in the upper status bar and some points are simply blue.
Can somebody help me?
Cheers

Known bug, Snapper. Unfortunately the problem lies with the iPad version of the program. A fix is in the works and should be released soon. Hang in there!
-
Ahh okay thx…:o
-
Dave arnold gave me a beta, and the 5.2.007 version is now working fine.
I hope he will make it official soon
-
Same problem here. Do you think I could also get a functioning beta?
-
I am hoping that Dave Arnold will be releasing it as standard version soon.
My beta will expire in 36 days.
I just cant give it to you, as you must have a testflight account, and be validated by Dave. It installs directly, without the appstore or itunes.
i’ve tried contacting Dave lately, but he hasnt been answering for a week
-
Thx, Shung. Don’t worry I’ll try to be patient
-
Hang in there Judy. Had you contacted me earlier, I would’ve given your email to Dave too… but at this point it’s probably best to wait. Sorry about that, but that’s how it goes unfortunately.

Don’t be sorry, Ice. I’m already very grateful and happy with iFlyBMS as it is. It can only be better.
Thx. -
Made a little update to IflyBMS, just for me, but I can share if ICE agrees… you may have to update your keystroke file for callbacks though, because i modified a couple of inputs sent… (for example i fixed the ICP SYM (working with F7 and F8 now, as well as the RET DEPR rotary)
As i use the Ipad on a horizontal mode, i wasnt satisfied with having to scroll up and down in IflyBMS ICP to find certain controls… Ice told me he would make one, but he obviously has been busy So, with my little knowledge of touch control, i fooled around until i understood a little how it works… I havent understand a lot yet, but still i was able to empirically manage to create a working, new version of the ICP, in horizontal mode.
This is what it looks like
and you just have to scroll down to find the charts link, and the DATA card link. I was out of room, and I felt these didnt belong directly on my cockpit anyway… Another compromise is that I had to place the F-ACK button somewhere on the ICP, where you dont have any active control anyway.
thanks for this great software Ice !!!

Hey Shung, nice work. If you are happy to share this profile then do so by all means! I’m sure a few folks would greatly appreciate it.
Apologies for not being able to do this as my efforts have been directed elsewhere. Thanks for stepping up!

Ice.
I might like to make an improved version, with more panels and switches. Maybe by downsizing some of them.
I have two questions for you.
What font are you using for the panel writings.
How hard is it to create a new buttons/switch ? Could you quickly explain ? I plan on using the same switches graphics you have already created. I just don’t really know how to create a new switch, with it’s own input and it’s active area.
Thanks a lot

It’s easy enough once you get to it to be honest. The hardest part is getting them all to fit.
Tell you what… if you can figure out the actual real-estate size of the horizontal layout on the iPad, and using Photoshop or some such program, draw me a layout of what you want and where and how it all fits together. If I only need to “assemble” this and not “figure out” which goes where, I can do it on a weekend or so. It was the grouping, arranging, and “fitting” of the switches and buttons that took the most time for me.
Send me a PM or email (better!) and I’ll get it sorted.

well, this is what i am working on ICE…
i still have to think about what important toggle switches or rotaries I can implement in the top left panel though
Im struggling on how to create a new switch, and I would appreciate some help. just give me a few clues, and I should work this out. By what am I to start ?
I noticed that for each toggle switch, there is a label (starting position, to witch i can affect an image from the toggles section) and then 2 or 3 positions (AHK) and then a GP…
I just dont know by what to start…
My idea was to simply duplicate an existing toggle (such as the one used for the autopilot) and then modify the inputs it sends, but I am unable to do this.
can you help me ?
-
Ok… i know understand how to create all this thinks (AHK, LABEL, GP) and how to assign gestures to each of them… What I would like to understand is how i can visually make them appear on the layout !!! I know how to change the image of an existing one, but not how to make a new created one visually appear !!!
thanks !!!
