Issues with the Sun

Hi team, is there something that can be done about the Sun? The Sun in RL doesn’t always emit beams of light like that in exactly 6 points.

Like lens-flare, this is only realistic through a camera (or optical device).

I know it is “unrealistic” but it needs something, otherwise it looks even worse as just a bright disc.
The purple hazing when it is just off the side of the view is the icing on the cake.
Maybe instead of rays, it could be an option to have it as a halo instead, that only appears when you’re looking within 30 degrees of it (or appears more strongly, similar to how it looks now), to emulate the glare you get from the real thing?
If the sun is just out of view, keep the purple haze, then as it comes towards the center of the view, have the halo increase in intensity and diameter, to make the sun “seem” larger as you move towards looking directly at it.
Just throwing ideas out there.

Sheref’s Sun glare and canopy in the morning glare. Really need the visor down… Of course normal sun outside the pit…
