Solved SOLVED: Bug Report: Match play FoV zoom in
-
Dev team,
Would like to report a worsening of the ‘zoom in’ bug in match play mode since 4.37.This issue first stared getting reported in my Sqn around 4.36u3 if I remember correctly. It now seems to becoming more frequent for more players.
Bug seems to be random - not repeatable, but where as it used to be infrequent, it is now happening to someone almost every time we play in Match Play mode.
This has basically made Match Play mode unusable and we will have to implement NOTAMS to stop using Match Play/Dogfight sessions within our Sqn which is not only a massive shame and it degrades peoples enjoyment but also massively impacts our training program.
I dont suppose the devs are any closer to finding this bug? If not, does it sit high or low on the bug list so we can factor in likely fix time?
My Sqn would be happy to help with any bug tracking/testing if one of the devs can tell us what they want us to do/test.

Can you describe the bug?
-
Better yet, one of our sqn members managed to catch it on film.
In the meantime, a basic description below:
Joining a match play dogfight normally fine.
Setup typically 5-10nm apart, 1v1 or 2v1 (always human vs human), unlimited guns, 2 or 0 rear aspect heat, no other weapons, 20,000’ over the water near Gunsan, unlimited kills.
‘At some point’ (it’s not repeatable), you will start the next fight but your FoV is zoomed right in and cannot be moved much further back than having most of the HUD in view, which is obviously not conducive to BFM/ACM.
- Will work on linking a video ASAP.

Here you go:

Humm could it be linked to the VR fov computation?
-
Hi Max,
Possibly but I would need to take guidance from the Dev team as it is impacting players using Track IR and it first manifested in 4.36u2 / u3 - would it be possible for it to be linked to VR in such cases?-S
-
I’ll let the expert take over on that… I have no idea
-
No, this is not a bug related to VR.
It has been there for a very very long time.@Sharpe
To get out of it, you need to press the “L” key… and everything goes back to normal. -
OMG if this is a thing then you Sir are a scholar and a gentleman!
I will have my Sqn explore this and report back our findings.
- thanks

@Sharpe
You are welcome. -
