Advice from a Falcon BMS user with RealSim FSSB/ FS16SGRH stick

@huffer2 Just curious why you are thinking of buying an FSSB before some form of head tracking?
But how do you tell BMS to set DX for Hat1 to work with the pinky as a shifter.
Map it directly on the .key file or use the Launcher
-
@huffer2 the launcher can help there. I use the FSSB with a Warthog stick and before that the Cougar stick. You have to set a switch to be the shift and then map. Come over to the VTG and we can help you out.

I do use TrackerIR with Pro clip. The “slop” excessive play in the X and Y axis is about 3-4 mm. I have become used to it, but it makes refueling more difficult, along with other flight manuevers. -

What is VTG? -
@huffer2 its a discord group that has people geared toward helping out others with BMS.
There should be an invite in my signature block -

I do use TrackerIR with Pro clip.so that my Hat1 will control the Views with the pinky switch OUT
So why do you want to control the views with the HAT if you have a TrackIR?
Coming from a Cougar then a WH then a Virpil WarBRD and now a FSSB, I can recommend the FSSB but only if you’re not planning to make a replica pit as I think it’ll be a challenge to get it exactly right if you want a replica pit. There is a new product that has a different force curve or force sensor, not quite sure, but have a look at it before you decide which one to get.
I could tank with the WH on the original base, then it was easier with the smoother gimbals of the WarBRD. With the FSSB, it’s like the aircraft responds to my thoughts. PIOs are much easier to control when they happen and much rare to happen at all. With the precision of the controls, I can do closer formation flying with the tanker or my wingman/lead.

@Atlas
Thanks for your explanation. I am not familiar with those acronyms, WH and the other one you mentioned. But what I understand in your last sentence is that you are very pleased with the precision of the FSSB. Am I correct?
I have been so accustom to having view control on the hat…i guess it is a old habit. I made a decent cockpit and will use both ways to control my views. You are right…I could just use the hat for trim. I will consider this!
As far as PIO, having that slop in the dead center can really make it difficult to control.

Me again! I just realized WH is for the Warthog by TM. I am trying to avoid using their throttle, Iam so use to the feel of the Cougar Throttle.
I went to the Virpil site and that is not for me. thanks for the advice to check it out. RS FSSB/stick seems the best option. -
@huffer2 Yes, WH is Warthog, WarBRD is the name of the Virpil base, and PIO is pilot-induced oscillation. With the precision/responsiveness of the FSSB, my confidence in and my ability to control my aircraft has increased greatly.

@huffer2 I like the Cougar TQS and have one I rewired I use it from time to time. I mainly use the FSSB and the WH throttle and it’s been a solid combination.
