Help for Deduino
-
Hello!
Please read this information, is this what you are looking for? -
@malpaso thanks for your reply.
I have read several time from UriBa site, but the problem is that i don’t understand how to wire and how to compile arduino.on internet i’ve found this pic but it don’t work (at least for me)
i need a drawing like this and someone who can help me compile the arduino software for DED and FFI.

**Download Arduino IDE

Search YouTube for more tutorial videos, this program you are trying to use is very good, there is also F4toSerial, the link below, the website has all the documentation including the PDF!

Hi, @69tantra , I know how you feel!
For a long time, I wanted to build a DEDuino as part of my desktop setup. I bought an Arduino and a little OLED screen, and those wires like you have, but I despaired of ever making it work. I was sure I would never be able to figure out how to make the Arduino work, or how to hook up the cables, or how to run the software
About a year ago, the fog finally lifted and I was able to get my DEDuino working. I can still hardly believe it!
Sadly, my ignorance about electronics and software is still so great that I can’t remember most of the things I did! But… let’s see what I can re-construct. Hopefully this will help you.
First, here are some pictures that show how I connected my Arduino to the little OLED screen:

Those links don’t seem to be showing up as images here on the BMS forum, but hopefully if you follow those links, Imgur will show you the images
It appears there was a post on f-16.net which may have been the key to how I figured out the right way to connect those wires:

Here is a thread from last year, in which @malpaso helped me to get my DEDuino working:

When I start a BMS session on my desktop setup, here is what I do with my DEDuino:
-
I have a shortcut on my Windows 10 desktop called “DEDuino.exe - Shortcut”. I double-click that icon.
-
This opens a little window titled “DEDuino”. It has a drop-down menu titled “Select COM port”, and in my case, I select COM3. It also has a checkbox titled “Arduino Uno”. I make sure this box is checked.
-
In this little DEDuino window, I click the rectangular “Start” button. The window goes away, but in the “Hidden Icons” section of my Windows toolbar, I now have a little icon for DEDuino.
At this point, my DED screen says “FALCON NOT READY…”. When I start the sim and get into the 3D cockpit, the DED starts working.
The “FALCON NOT READY…” text should be lined up against the left side of the little OLED screen. If it’s not, the DED may be shifted to the right in a strange way when you are flying. I have found that exiting DEDuino and restarting it (as detailed above) fixes this problem.
Oh, and to do that, or whenever I’m done with my BMS session, here’s how I shut down DEDuino:
-
I go to the “Show Hidden Icons” caret symbol in my Windows taskbar, and show the little hidden icons.
-
I right-click on the DEDuino icon, and select “Stop”.
-
I show the little hidden icons again, right-click on the DEDuino icon again, and select “Exit”.
I don’t know if I really need to do all those shut-down steps, but it’s a habit I’ve fallen into.
I don’t know if the information I’ve put in this post will help you, but I hope you are able to get your DEDuino working. I found it very, very satisfying when I got mine working, and it has been a nice addition to my desktop BMS setup. I definitely look at it sometimes, both when I’m ramp-starting and when I’m in flight. It’s nice having two places to look at the DED.
Good luck!

*@69tantralet’s see now if you can install DED and FFI, keep us updated!

@malpaso
your first video seems good to understand how to set arduino (even if i have micro while on video he use duethank you, i’ll let you know how things goes on
-
@Mylonite470
i’m in that fog…
let’s see what happensthank you
-
mmm
because i would like to have DED and FFI…do i need 2 arduino micro? -
@69tantra gave up using deduino, will use F4toSerial, will you be able to?
-
@malpaso
Arduino is something totally new for me.
I mean…i don’t know what are mosi, miso, and all the other acronyms.
And on the same way i don’t know what the 16 pins on display have to be connected.
Anyway Tomorrow morning i’ll give a look at f4toserial -
@69tantra
You might also try contacting Sebastian at PSM (on Facebook). He has perfected many instruments using Arduino Uno boards, including DED and FFI. I use his DED/FFI combo, and it works well. Perhaps he can give you some tips on the wiring. He is usually very responsive to Messages on Facebook.Regards,

@Tomcattwo
mmm…i think that he will take “his secret” for him because is his job -
@69tantra
You won’t know for sure unless you ask.

Solved
I didn’t notice there was a connection inside R5 and R8, so it was unable to have a 4SPI. -
@69tantra was successful, already functional?
-
It works perfectly, only one arduino micro for DED and FFI.
