Scaling & DPI Issues In Helios
-
Hi all
I’ve reinstalled Windows and am running BMS 4.37 Update 2 with Helios and Ice’s latest profile plus two monitors (one is a 24" touchscreen)
I’m having an issue where keypresses on Helios’ ICP are not lining up on my large monito. I have checked Program DPI and High DPI scaling override but no joy. I didn’t have any such issues with this on my previous Windows installation. Any suggestions?

@Mosquitoe
With the ICP in particular non-alignment of keypresses is almost always a DPI issue. What DPI are you running on your main and touchscreen monitors? -
@linknet 150dpi on my large monitor and 100dpi on my 24" touchscreen monitor

That’s the problem, both need to be the same. If you leave them set differently then the High DPI Scaling Override for the Helios Control Center usually works. It needs to be set as shown below:
High DPI Scaling Override

@linknet , tried that but still no luck. Also noticed that the MFDs in Helios are not extracting any data when I try to fly a TE.

@linknet, issues are getting more weird.
In BMS setup, I can’t use my fingers to manipulate the ICP or the MFD OSBs. However, when I use my mouse, I have no problem working the Helios cockpit.
But as soon as I get into the game, I can’t move my mouse pointer into my touchscreen.
Any thoughts?

@Mosquitoe Set both DPI/scaling to 100%. Then open up the profile in Helios and reset monitors. That should fix it.

@Atlas , thanks for the tip but no joy. I tried 100% for both but it didn’t work.
As I said in my previous post, if I use my mouse pointer on my Helios ICP, it calls up the buttons perfectly. The moment I try to use my fingers, I get no response on the touchscreen.

@Mosquitoe might have to re-calibrate Windows so it knows which screen is the touchscreen.

If the Helios Profile works with a mouse then the problem lies entirely with either the touchscreen not being recognised as a touchscreen or with the touchscreen calibration both of which are a windows problem. The fact that the profile works with the mouse means that the profile is setup and working correctly.

@linknet , that’s what it was. I forgot that when I reinstalled Windows I would have lost all my touchscreen configuration and settings.
Works perfectly now. Thanks!

@Atlas, that was the issue all along. Helios was correctly set up all the time.
FYI, I am running my large monitor at 150%dpi and my touchscreen at 100% with DPI Scaling Override turned on and Helios works fine now. Thanks!

@Mosquitoe Glad you got it working!
