Acmi, where to enable?
-
Maybe is a stupid question, but I was searching to enable Acmi, but in BMS config I don’t find any row to activate. Is there a solution I have lost?
Thanks

@tdr I believe acmi is enabled by default. When you enter the cockpit look for the avtr switch (left side panel, aft of the jammer) . Flip it twice (left mouse click). It goes up then in the middle position. That’s for continuous recording. It saves the acmi file on the default folder, but you can change that from the config file. I wish I was at my PC right now to give you more info.

@tdr I think MP pilots (mostly) like to use the
-acmi
command line switch, on the server process – this will begin recording ACMI from the moment you enter 3D world.Of course that will result in huge file sizes… for SP, i like to make it part of my “fence-check” routine … generally, whenever I switch Master-arm: on => I start ACMI recording. Master-arm: off => stop recording.
While figuring it out, it may help to enable the “RECORDING” screen overlay indicator.
set g_bACMIRecordMsgOff 0
With the default position of the cockpit switch, it will only record 30 seconds of ACMI when you press trigger to first-detent. That’s almost never what you want … so it’s a little confusing.
To manually control recording, I just define a keyboard callback:
SimAVTRToggle 115 0 0x2F 0 0x2E 4 1 "[alt+C][V] AVTR Switch - Toggle"

@tdr just push the big button…… no need to flip switches or dig through config files…

The 3D cockpit swith has 3 positions:
1-OFF
2-30 SECONDS
3-CONTINUOS RECORDINGThe real plane fuctions are:
1-OFF
2-CONTINUOS RECORDING
3-GENERATE A MARK IN THE ACMI IN THIS MOMENT (MOMENTARY POSITION)This is the balance between reality fuctions and what we have in BMS, will be crazier is the funtions order in BMS were:
1-OFF
2-CONTINUOS RECORDING
3-30 SECONDSIn this case all people will say, why so many acmi generations when I only want 30 second… because option nº2 will generate a 0 sec acmi file…

@Quasi_Stellar
Thanks, yes, I have seen but it records all the time you fly and not the time that you wish to record. Moreover, I have found a web page of the old forum where it was possible to get acmi with the program acmi.compiler. The fact is that file acmi are all ziped and Tacview doesn’t open at all.

Add the following line to your Falcon BMS User, config file
set g_btacview 1
Then in the game toggle ACMI on and off with ‘F’ key
