Hey Guys, I am back
after 8 months i finally have a working PC again and back to developing Taiwan BMS Theater.
atm I am sorting out with Canister what we have and what we need.so far we sure NEED a 3D DataBase operator/editor. We have some 3D models that have to be in that Taiwan Theater DataBase to create a realistic scenario.
any help is appreciated!!!we keep you updated!

Hi there!
As stef said I’m also coming back to finish this project, ATM for what I can remember about the terrain:-path and areas should be edited to be ready for the autogen update (when it will come).
-terrain elevation has been corrected for all airbases, that means (hopefully) no more BOOM when you land.
-ocean corrected elevation to 0, you can call that silly but there was a lot of tzunami waves.
-all new set of 1024res tiles, for a new looking terrain but there as a placeholder (see point 1)ALL of this if we manage to find the last version :mrgreen:

the famous f@ck-1, I still need to improve the art of the lod importer but this seem the first step IN!

I’ ve just started today using lodeditor, searched around and got some inputs, but I don’t know how to completely import a model.

that trick was able to get the 3D model in, but I think that with this way I just change the first lod as other remain the same?
anyway the texture are porked as you can see, dunno why but by importing the LOD it points to textures number 4000 4001 4002 4003, that are already in use by the cockpit, so how can I change the number of texture they are pointing at? (I’ve tried with the replace feature but it keeps giving an error with the plugin)
anyone out there that can give me an hand? -

ok, I ll try it out when I get back on my desktop, what about loadouts, and lower lods? for example If I wanna replace the current F16 block-32 LOD1 with fck1 LOD1, the LOD2,3… will be still of the F16 right? as the .lod files from ccc seems to me that are only LOD1 are there any kind of problem? I think that there will be a “bad” transition in terms of shapes from LOD2 -> LOD1 anything else?

I believe LOD1 is really the only one needed anymore.I had done some test’s when BMS 4 was first released, then Mystic and I ran some test’s earlier this year (ummmm…he did all the grunt work…LOL!!,thank’s M8 ) That point in that direction.He may well be using them in his BFS DB,I have not had a chance to peruse it as of late.
In any event, my belief is that Falcon, whether it be BMS or Falcon 4.0. Doe’s not need to start drawing a dot at 60 mile’s,a Triangle at 40 mile’s….etc. Basically she should not be forced to draw anything BVR of the player’s “Bubble”…just suck’s FPS\GFX\CPU resources IMHO!!
As far as load out’s,as drawn on the vehicle when viewing OTW, they’ll be there.I did this same thing when I was a Core Developer at FF i.e. using one LOD for a model, and deagg’ng it into the 3D world at a reasonable\believable distance that the Human eye can see.
I Don’t think even “Top Gun’s” in RL, flying @ 300 Knot’s @ 10K feet can discern\see a 300 ft long x 30 ft wide x 40 ft tall Bridge at 40 NM…ROTFLMAO!!! Boy we have it easy in Falcon!!!tired demer
