Threat Circle Color
-
Does anyone know how or is it possible to change the colors of the threat rings in 2D and also in 3D?
I want to be able to keep red as enemy air defenses and have friendly blue air defenses.
I searched the forums and found no luck
Thanks

Check out the
Falcon BMS.cfg
file. There are these entries, though they are not AFAIK side specific (though they are labeled “Threat” so perhaps they are). These are only relevant to 2D. For 3D (and I assume you mean for the MFDs) you could set them using the avionics configurator, but this will probably prevent you from participating on multiplayer servers.set g_sThreatCircleColor_RadarHigh "0xFF0000" // The color of the UI map thread circle for "Radar High", set as hex, "0xBBGGRR" set g_sThreatCircleColor_RadarLow "0xFF0000" // The color of the UI map thread circle for "Radar Low", set as hex, "0xBBGGRR" set g_sThreatCircleColor_ADAHigh "0xFF00FF" // The color of the UI map thread circle for "ADA High", set as hex, "0xBBGGRR" set g_sThreatCircleColor_ADALow "0xFF00FF" // The color of the UI map thread circle for "ADA Low", set as hex, "0xBBGGRR" set g_nThreatCircleContrast_RadarHigh 40 // The strength of the color mixing if 2 or more threat circles of type "Radar High" overlap. Range 0-100 set g_nThreatCircleContrast_RadarLow 40 // The strength of the color mixing if 2 or more threat circles of type "Radar Low" overlap. Range 0-100 set g_nThreatCircleContrast_ADAHigh 40 // The strength of the color mixing if 2 or more threat circles of type "ADA High" overlap. Range 0-100 set g_nThreatCircleContrast_ADALow 40 // The strength of the color mixing if 2 or more threat circles of type "ADA Low" overlap. Range 0-100
If you want to make changes #, the recommendation is to copy the setting to the
Falcon BMS User.cfg
file as the former will be overwritten when BMS gets updated. -
@CriticalMass yeah, the main reason is for our multiplayer wing so if it messes with that, doesn’t work for us. I’ll try it though on my other PC

@WPNS24 - If this is what you’re talking about:
set g_sPPTRingColor “0x0000AA” // The color of the UI map PPT rings, set as hex, “0xBBGGRR”
set g_nPPTRingWidth 1.5 //Def: 1 // The width in pixels of the UI map PPT ringsThese are the custom settings I use to make the threat ring a darker red than default, and a slightly thicker circle than default.

@SoBad thanks for the info but I’m looking to have the friendly air defenses blue in 2D and 3D if possible. Just gotta make sure it doesn’t affect multiplayer

I’m sure that the devs could implement that with config statements along the lines of:
set g_sPPTGoodGuysRingColor “0xAA0000” // Blue Circles
set g_sPPTBadGuysRingColor “0x0000AA” // Red CirclesGood for HSI clarity, but I doubt that it’s realistic.

Perhaps WDP is the answer for now. The Map can show Threats and own side:
Add the map to your kneeboard and cross-check with MFD?

@SoBad I like it

@CriticalMass that looks interesting, best option imo so far
