Unsolved MFD response very slow in 4.37.3
-
After installing the latest update (4.37.3) I noticed that the response of the MFD’s has become very slow. When I push one of the buttons on the Thrustmaster MFD or when I use the DMS on the stick, it takes a few seconds before the MFD screen is updated. When I look at my main monitor, I can see that the MFD’s there get updated immediately.
Before with older versions I never had this problem. Could this be an incorrect setting somewhere? I thought all settings are correct, but I may have missed something. Or maybe something related to the directX?
I use a triple monitor setup for the main screen. For the MFD’s I have to 8" screens behind the Thrustmaster MFD’s. When I use 4.33 there is no delay at all. Framerate on this setup with 4.37.3 shows as just over 100fps. Video memory is 8GB, RAM is 64GB.

I’ve seen similar, just got the latest Helios going again for this version. Is fine for a bit then gets a bit stuttery… Are you using RTT alone or Helios (or Helios/RTT combo) to display the MFDs?

I am using RTT

Well, the old fix for laggy Helios MFDs was to use RTT so that is my next step (set up RTT ini/activate in Helios). I don’t believe my OSB button presses were delayed, just the x/y slew and the MFD refresh itself. I will report back what happens when I switch to RTT… For me it seemed to get worse after a few minutes, which sometimes indicates a memory issue (in the code), but who knows.
EDIT: Configured Helios to use RTT and the MFDs are back to smooth as silk, my guess is your issue lies elsewhere… You are using latest Helios and/or RTT exe and ini’s yes?

Yes, I am using the latest version of RTT. I do not use Helios at all.

Here is what I would do, your call of course! After being sure you have the latest mini-screen drivers (mine are DisplayLink USB drivers, currently 10.3). I would try the next (possible) solution, video drivers. Use DDU to uninstall every trace of old drivers, then NVCleanstall to do a clean install of just the latest GPU drivers themselves (unless you need audio or PhysX), no Telemetry, no GeForce Exp… see if that cures it. If still bad. my next step would be to save RTT config, logbook, AL setup files, etc and uninstall/reinstall a fresh 4.37.3… This is how I use my mini-screens with Helios/RTT combo…
