This afternoon I already ordered mine, I will comment on my impressions when I have it
Have you received your ICP yet?

If a WinWing F-16 ICP owner with the WinWing MFDs could do a similar video to this one it would be really much appreciated:

@brddog006 The European warehouse does not ship to my zip code, ironically I live in Europe…so I had to use global shipping…will take a while to arrive, January 5

My ICP arrived this afternoon. (OH, US)
Setup was a breeze using the Alt Launcher in 4.37. (Except the Warning Reset toggle. I’ll need to look into that.)
The DED works when SimApp Pro is running, and the performance is great. No lag between button press and display. (Be sure to enter the path to BMS in the SimApp setup.)
I’ve got it set up as a desktop stand, and it proved to tip when pressing buttons at the top of the panel. I solved that by using the adhesive dots that come with it and attaching the 2 extra metal brackets to the bottom of the stand. This gives it a wider base and doesn’t tip as easily.
Overall, I think this is a great addition to my desktop ‘pit’.-Growler

Mine came in today too. I immediately took it apart.
Unfortunately, it’s not that simple to split the DED from the ICP. The front panel is one piece of plastic. One cut would do it, but I didn’t dare do that yet. 3d printing new housings for the DED and ICP would be easy because of the way they’re mounted. Also, the display is connected with a ZIF connector and ribbon cable to the PCB, so extending that wouldn’t be hard either.
Something very frustrating is that the lines on the thumb wheels are upside down. When I had the case open, it looked like it should be possible to swap them around so they would be correct. I removed the retaining clip, but they still wouldn’t budge. Project for another day.

@Growler4135 Mind if I ask what the overall shipping time was for you? I ordered and got the “May take a while due to COVID, Weather, Acts of God, Planetary Alignment, etc” notice.
Thanks in advance!

@Ricky Oh thats a real shame. Why they make these things so close to real and then botch a few things to make them not realistic I dont know. Its a shame they don’t make them replicas and then make non realistic options that are removable add ons like the option to remove the extra gaming buttons on the stick. Unfortunately I will pass on all their stuff because of the unrealistic design changes they made.

@tteddy623 It was about 1 week from order to delivery. I ordered it on Dec. 22 and it arrived on Dec. 29.
The shipping seemed pretty quick with no delays for customs. -

I tried bms with the simapp running and the DED is not getting sync with the game.
I entered the bms path (the whole Falcon BMS 4.37 folder) and I updated the firmware (which stops at 99.99% completed but it says ‘CRC check passed, upgrade succeeded’ though)
I also tried to run bms on the alternative launcher, delete all the simapp files and re-install it…
Do you know any solution for this??
BTW, happy new year

@tptp149 Happy New Year to you also!
My setup went so flawlessly that I didn’t have to do any troubleshooting. But, I can give you the steps I took:
- I did not plug in the ICP beforehand.
- Since I already had SimApp installed, I updated it to the latest version from Settings / System Configuration in the app. This is the version I have running now. V1.10.26_Beta *You can also get it from the Winwing download site.
- Back in Settings, I set the path to my BMS install: C:\Falcon BMS 4.37. (default install path for BMS) This is the current version 4.37.3 Hotfix 2.
- Returned to the main Device tab in SimApp and plugged in the ICP.
- It immediately showed up in the devices panel.
- Clicked on the ICP’s icon to enter the ICP connection screen and I tested everything.
- I started BMS Alt Launcher and set up the buttons on the ICP. I kept SimApp running in the background.
Once I got to the pit, the DED just worked.
Since everyone’s BMS set up differs greatly, I’ll offer basic troubleshooting tips:
Check software versions: BMS, SimApp, Windows Updates. (I am assuming a Windows install with BMS 4.37.)
Check if this line is added to your Falcon BMS User.cfg file: set g_bExportRTTTextures 1
If you are running any other display extraction software, disable that and try with only SimApp running.I hope some of this helps and you get the DED running!
-
Oh my god, growler!!
Adding ‘set g_bExportRTTTextures 1’ to the cfg file solved my problem!I really appreciate for your kind reply.
I wish all your goals with be fullfilled this year!
Happy New Year to you and all the best wishes!
May you be bless with everything you wish in 2024! -
@tptp149 That is GREAT news! I’m glad you got it worked out and can enjoy the new addition to your pit!
-
I just ordered one, trying to use my mouse on ICP buttons was very annoying with my TrackIR 5. My TrackIR settings are at low levels for head movement yet even zooming in on ICP to use rocker button is a hassle. + and - keys work but I try not to use keyboard commands. This new ICP hopefully will make the sim more enjoyable as spending less time focused on using the ICP in the BMS sim. I’ll report back on my findings.

@mjones just got the email that my pre order is ready. I’m stoked. I’ve been using a tablet running an ICP/DED app for the past few years. Gonna be great to actually push buttons
-
@mjones and @Quasi_Stellar , I got mine for a week now and it is great, with the only unknown factor being its longevity, especially for the silicone buttons. Unless you intend to build a real cockpit, in which case you should buy an ICP without the DED from other manufacturers, you are going to love it. It made me want to go even further and I I have ordered two MFDs. I hope they run as smoothly as the ICP does.

to configure the drift c/o, norm and warm reset button:
1 select the -ON line move up to DRIFT C/O and leave it in this position, then save.
2 select the line -NORM move the knob back to NORM and save.
3 select the _WARN RESET line, move the knob down to WARN RESET and KEEP HOLD, then save. -
@djetdail take a look to my lights config
Edit, sorry this is the way I use.
-
@djetdail Thanks! Your method works great. I appreciate your solution!
-
Installed ICP/DED and SimAppPro, set all ICP functions to Launcher, works great!
-
@mjones Sounds great, I expect mine on Tuesday, next week.
