I’m waiting for someone who ordered the ICP and MFDs to report back. The ICP seems to be great. I’m also interested in the MFDs.
I had a look at some reviews of the F-18 MIP with MFDs, but they are all the same template review that they’ve apparently been asked to do.
Some “reviews” are positively rubbish, and fail to show the details that matter (e.g. what do the displays actually look like, viewing angles, bleed-through, color reporduction, and response time/refresh rate).
From what I can tell, the displays are actually pretty good. Too bad people don’t take the time to show them.

@Tiger-0 Sorry, before I asked the other guy so he could answer you. I know he recently bought the legend mip version, but I don’t know if he has already set it up

@Apolo27 Hi there, I was out of my home for a few days
yes I assembled my cockpit
The video is in spanish but you can see how it is the assemble once finised
-
@Revientor Nice! Have you tried the MFDs with BMS? I see that one of the recent Simapp updates is supposed to add support for the BMS, but I don’t know if that means that it will be as simple as with the ICP. Do you have any tips for its installation (software wise, not physical)?

Thanks for the video!
Can you do another video showing the MFDs working, and show viewing angles and what they look like?
Did you fly it in BMS yet?
-
@Revientor It’s impressive, congratulations Reviiii, beautiful

The best video I found showing the displays is this:
It would still be interesting for the camera to be moved around the display to show viewing angles.
The displays appear to be quite high resolution.

@Tiger-0
Yes I will do it -

Which store did you use? UK now has a store but it shows pre-order.

@Tiger-0 thank you. I am actually setting it up. It is not hard, just few buttons are not mapped.
I have a difficulty with
- DRIFT C/O - logic is escaping me how to set it up (what is “normal” and what is “release” - for this particular set-up)
- GAIN / LVL / AUTO -> somehow I am too blind and can not find in the key mapping menu.
Regarding you question:
I used their EU store as I shipped it to Prague.
Ordered on 21.01., shipped on 24.01. and delivered today, all from Germany.General comments:
The build itself is nice, lighter plastic, but quality is good. Buttons are fine, they will last. I really like the integrated display. And for the price, it is a no-brainer.I getting back from 4.34 so there is plenty of changes. But this is too good and I have no excuses anymore.

Drift C/O - what do you mean? The hardware switch is UP for ON (meaning the TVV is fixed and will NOT show drift). Mid setting is C/O OFF, meaning the TVV WILL show drift.
“BMS - Full.key”
SimDriftCOOn 121 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 "ICP: DRIFT C/O Switch - ON" SimDriftCOOff 121 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 "ICP: DRIFT C/O Switch - NORM"
To assign this to DX buttons, try this:
SimDriftCOOn <DX_BUTTON_ID_ON> -2 -2 0x0 0x0 0 "DX" SimDriftCOOff <DX_BUTTON_ID_ON> -2 -2 0x42 0x0 0 "DX"
…where <DX_BUTTON_ID_ON> is the ID of the ON position of the switch when you test it in the BMS config screen, minus 1.
e.g. if the BMS config screen shows button 400, then you put 399 here.
I just had a look in the keybinds, and FLIR GAIN/LVL/AUTO is a spare switch and not implemented in BMS. I think the switch on the hardware is working though, so you can assign this to something else.

Re: Drift C/O
Thanks, I will look at this tomorrow.Re: FLIR GAIN/LVL/AUTO
After I posted this, I checked the BMS Cockpit Interaction Guide and also found out that these switches, along with CONT scroll wheel are not implemented. However, in the AL, could actually assign axis for all four scroll wheels.See below:
I am just getting back to basics, reading manuals, and starting engines. It is fun.
I have to say that with TQS and ICP, this is much better experience then before. -
@alippay2 on how to set the C/O switch. Read up in this thread about 16 days ago. It is explained exactly how to set it in the launcher. Works like a charm. For the CONT dial, I use that axis to dim/brighten my HMD
