Re: VAC Website Down or Suspended
I have a registered version of VAC . I switch my windows 7 to windows 10. Problem now is that when i try to fill in my register key, it gives the message “Script error”.
Has someone this program running in windows 10, or is het obsolete now.
Greetings,
an old fart wo is entering the world of windows 10…

VAC is deprecated and no longer being developed (for many years now, iirc - like, almost a decade?).
Hope you can get it to work, but if not, there are other options from VoiceAttack profiles through the awesome (free) FoxVox application - just check the posts in this forum section if you can’t get VAC to work as there are many alternatives.
Best wishes and good luck!

@SemlerPDX
I’ve been using VAC on my system for a few years and am happy with it. I’m curious to know how VAC compares to the free VOX software other than the lack of support now for VAC? -
@luvtofish I wouldn’t know, I use VoiceAttack. I doubt they would be comparable, as FoxVox is nearly as advanced as VoiceAttack, whereas VAC has been deprecated for a long time (years and years). But you’re in luck, because you don’t have to wonder - you can try out FoxVox right now for free!

@luvtofish
While I’ve not used VAC for years, it was a great program but simple. VoiceAttack is much more advanced and I’m using @SemlerPDX 's profile with no complaints. -
I have VA 1.12 with a modified Semler’s profile on Win10 and it works

If you did clean install of Windows 10 not an upgrade and you need to register it with VAC online, you are probably out of luck. No one is there at their end to activate it. When I upgraded my Windows 7 to Windows 10 a few years ago, everything was up and running all softwares were still registered etc. No issues at all. I also have Voice Attack. It is in some ways better. When I finally go to Windows 11 I think I will forget VAC. Sucks.

@Icarus I’m using VAC on windows 11 and it’s working just fine for me. What functionality does FoxVox or VoiceAttack provide that I don’t have with VAC?
-
@luvtofish The reason I will forget VAC when I go to Windows 11 is not because it doesnt work in Windows 11, but because I think I will not be able to register it anymore. You probably registered yours in Windows 11 before they ceased their business. If you ever reinstall Windows you will likely not be able to register it again and will be forced to use an alternative. Personally I like some things about both VA and VAC. The thing I like about VA is stuff like Crew Chief profile with audio. VAC cannot do that. Otherwise VAC works fine for me.
