thrustmaster viper F16 hotas

Have you seen the new thrustmaster F16 hotus? It’s amazing, very realistic, and just made for F16 enthusiasts. What Falcon BMS now needs to do is add 'landing gear up" and “landing gear down” to the selection. landing gear toggle won’t do the trick. Hey, folks, at BMS, please add this . thaks.

@eric-tattersall
That’s already in BMS. Try using the FULL or PITBUILDER key file.@eric-tattersall said in thrustmaster viper F16 hotas:

Which one? There’s nothing new from TM, the Viper stick has been available for a while now and the TQS is new but not new-new.

@Atlas iwasn’t talking about the stick. i know that’s been out for quite a while i was talking about the hotas
-
@Atlas i found it under full. thanks.
-
@eric-tattersall HOTAS. Hands On Throttle and Stick. I think you mean TQS. Throttle Quadrant System. You are confusing people.
-
@eric-tattersall and if you go to this thread you can have the gear and threat warning aux lights work in sync with BMS.

If you’re talking about the TQS, again, that’s been out for a while. Not very long, but still, not new-new. I find the selection of switches and dials quite… unique as well, with the downside that anyone who is semi-serious will quickly get the yearning for even more switches and dials and that’s a slippery slope!!
From what I can see, the throttle arm is shorter too so throttle travel is not accurate. Maybe similar to WH throttle travel distance?

I can’t say that I have noticed any travel length issues with the Viper. I’m very happy with it.

@Atlas I have been flying the new TM TQS since it came out. I like it -its good quality. I am having quite a bit of difficult flying at exact speeds. I suppose some of that is technique, but there doesn’t seem to be as much ‘fine-tuning’ capability as I had hope for a product at this price.

I’m using the alt launcher to set up all the buttons, but it is no recognizing the gear down and some of the other toggles. Is there a thread that goes over how to set up all the buttons and switchers on the throttle and the mission pack? I remember seeing something a week ago, but now I can’t find it. -
@Scotters try

@airtex2019 Thank you! I found it again last night, that was what I had remembered seeing, and boy, did that help. I did not know about that release button, very nice thing to use.

New update. After going with max friction, it is working great. This was the opposite of the friction setting I had for the Warthog throttle, I needed it more loose to control the airspeed precisely, but loose on the Viper TQS, or even medium, just was a mess. I am loving it now with the max friction, it feels perfect.I just tried it out for the first time last night, and I had the same issue with controlling air speed. I am messing with the friction adjustments, though, thrustmaster really had to have a microscopic allen wrench that goes into a microscopic whole to adjust the friction? Come on man!

For some reason when testing the throttle in alt launcher, it is not going the full length anymore, only about 75% even in full after burner. I also tested it in the thrustmaster control panel, and it is the same thing. Unplugging it and plugging it back in did not make a difference. Anyone have any idea what I did here?
When I first used the Thrustmaster TQS yesterday, it went the full length. It also did in the alt launcher, even after using the axis assign to set the idle detent and afterburner.
So there are two things that might have messed things up. I went through all the keymappings using the great video by aviation plus. Maybe setting the idle cutoff button screwed something up?
I also increased the friction, which better allowed me to control air speed. Did that affect it? If so, is there a way to keep the friction at max but have the throttle reach the full length?

I don’t think this is your problem, but also don’t think you want any analog idle-cutoff defined, for this model of Throttle.
It’s a single-axis throttle … with a dx-button that signals in the cutoff position. Use the release/press command callbacks as outlined in the video, to start/shutdown fuel flow to your engine(s).

@airtex2019
Thanks airtex. I tried the calibration again, and everything works now. I think I was pressing the com switch too long, instead of just 3 seconds to start eh calibration procedure.
