Calling All Saitek X45 Pilots
-
Greetings Pilots , for weeks now I have been struggling with finding a working profile for my beloved X45. Alas I had to call no joy. True , while we can still somewhat fly with the hotas , it’s function and efficiency are greatly diminished by the lack of a proper profile. Our X45’s remain a very capable Hota as I recall from my days of flying Open Falcon. However , in today’s environment , and all the excellent work the BMS devs has put in to our Falon 4.0, the community support for the X45 has fallen to the wayside,
It is my intention to change that. I’m searching for a small team of X45 pilots to assist with the programming of a new and very capable profile . In this post I will toss out a few ideas for the direction I would like to see the profile development to tak.
The X45 has a mode selector, so I’ll start there. Keep in mind I’ve already begun some work on this profile.Mode selector :
Mode 1 = Navigation : In this mode all things Navigation related will be stored
IE, radio setup , Nose Wheel steering , Toe brakes{ for those without rudders}, Speed brake toggle…Mode 2 = Air to Air : In this mode all things relative to A-A combat will be programmed , This will be determined by the team as I do not possess the knowledge of all the function that is needed by our pilot .
Mode 3 = Air to Ground : In this mode , all A-G functions. Again this will be team effort to find and employ the most used and useful functions of A-G combat.
I intend this to be a basic function profile without the use DX commands as the SST software does not play nice with the software.
Speaking of software , this is what I’m currently using and have found to be the most stable in a Windows 11 environment : Driver
Saitek 6.0.4.1
SST software : Version 6.0.10.7
Each should be installed in windows 7 compatibility mode.
all drivers and software can be found by downloading Filezilla and connecting to ftp.saitke.com on port 21.I truly hope I can get some X45 pilots and those well versed in the world of FalconBMS that can provide direction and guidance in the development of this very detailed profile.
If you are interested in assisting with this project, Please contact me through this thread or DM me on the Falcon Lounge Discord .
Together we will make out beloved X45 capable and relevant once more. -
Programming has begun.

@ramious2012 I also have an x45 system that is still in good working order. I just got a new computer system so I have installed BMS and was looking forward to play. Saitek site no longer show profiles for my system. Give me a few days to hook up my old hard drives and I believe it has some of the old profiles. I think they’ve remapped the keys over the years but the setups might jumpstart the process.

@ramious2012 this sst not working my computer win 7 i do not see user interface, what exactly you need to download, sst weighs 20 mgb

Question: Why don’t you just use the now-standard BMS Launcher?
-
@drtbkj i need sst it for other games
-
@josel but you can use all saitek with either DX only or even a mix of DX and SST, done that with all my Saitek from X-45 over X-52 to now X65F. And would always prefer as much DX commands as possible than to map keyboard commands through SST

@josel , You don’t need to remove SST, but the Launcher has evolved to the point where for BMS itself it’s hard to beat.
My HOTAS evolution was similar to Oaks. X-45 to -55 to -65 , and as it progressed I was using SST less and less. Now, I’m 100% via the Launcher.
It will effect no other game -
@drtbkj I’m lazy, I wanted ready-made profiles for other simulators, Elite Dangerous, Flight Simulator etc.
there are ready-made profiles in falcon, but without sst mod 1,2,3 does not work, sorry for my English, it is a translator and without sst I will not upload profiles to other games, and this version of sst 6.0.10.7 does not show the interface, as if they were the same drivers, do I need to install anything else? -

However, do you know that with the Launcher you can set up DX shift pinky so each button can have 2 commands?
If you specifically want the Mode 1-3 option, tbh I don’t know if the Launcher will assign Dx commands to each button in each mode. BMS recently increased it’s number of DX available so who knows.
Sorry, but I can’t help with SST drivers and such. It’s been quite a few years since I messed with SST -
@drtbkj thanks for the answer, I’ll have to live with it XD

@drtbkj I found a solution to install sst,There is no new STT on the Saitek website, there is SD6 software which should generally contain STT, but it does not install. There is a way to do this that Zefir gave me.
You need to unpack the soft.exe installer with any program and then select the setup software_loc_9.msi file and install it.After running …software_loc_9.msi, you must then run setup.exe from the same directory as …software_loc_9.msi. Some Magic Bus with Magic Keyboard and Magic mouse will be installed. After all this, the profile works and the button names can be seen on the throttle pen.It was on the Polish forum, maybe it will be useful to someone
