WIP - Guam Theatre

You see everyday? Can you take photos of buildings, hangars, ATC …? These pictures are very helpful for building objects 3D.
I’m at Andersen AFB for a few more months. The only camera I have is my Samsung S III. I have some pictures of things, but mostly aircraft, runway and people. I’ll get some of the buildings and post them later.

Hi Guys
Andersen Airbase seems to be fixed right now;)
That’s only for tiling, I don’t made fix for 3D objects (runway on the sea …)
Regards
D.
No need to “Fix” the Tiles ATM……They are being rebuilt and are “growing” to accommodate the 3D objects scale and L2 elevation limits in BMS.
That is why we see a few different tiling perspectives at AAFB!!!But the ones in the Red box I am happy with, as they provide a good compromise.
But, if your having fun, so be it……:)
As far as that AB objective in Instant Action, we can just delete it in TacEdit.
Its left over from one of the many experiments.tired demer

Guam theatre airports info by SkyVector.
Currently, North Field (north end of Tinian) as well as Orote Field (west side of Guam on the peninsula) are closed airfields.

Cool page.

@Dead:
Quick question, is anyone else experiencing no sound (at least music) as well as not being able to set tower in the DTC? I don’t know if it’s something not completed yet or an issue on my end only–making bug reporting difficult.
Hi my friend.
Well at this stage of Guam theater (Alpha version) there are no NavAids. That means there are no TACAN stations, no ATC frequencies, no ILS e.t.c.
This time i’m working to create them with data based to real world. So just give me a week (max. time) and the NavAids for this nice theater will be ready for use .

@Fighting:
+1
+1. ATM search for info for an IL-2 mod I intend to prepare today, not as easy as I thought getting solid coherent info. And I only need geographical info lol.

I think Anderson needs a runway lighting and taxiway lights. I thought that without 3D taxiway and runway lighting will be hard to do. So I tried, and I think it is possible.
A few hours of work, does not look good. But you can do it in 3Ds Max without help of 3D taxiway and runway:

Arek,
Thank you for the effort!!! Yes there are endless possibilities for Custom Model’s\LOD’s in Guam.
But, as I stated to Danguard the tiles are “growing” to accommodate both the L2 elevation issue and the Model Scaling issues in Falcon\BMS……
I plan to release the final tiles and L2 for AndersenAFB soon…then we can apply what we’ve made\learned to it!!!Also, and MOST important!!! To ALL, Please DO NOT ADD to the Database!!!There are PLENTY of unused CT Records we can use \takeover for Guam.

It is so refreshing to see so much developer-type activity in this topic.
@neystratiou - Thanks for the info. Hopefully that link helps with your research to track down data.
No feedback on North Field or Orote Field - are those going to be closed or active airfields in the theatre?
-
All Air Base objectives will remain and be fully operational in game. I\We do not have the luxury of 40 or so AB’s to use for building Campain’s.

Sigh!!! LOL……Install Instructions
1.Unzip the download to your desktop
2.Copy the extracted ALPHAAdd-On Guam folder and paste it to your *:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data folder
3.GoTo your *:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Terrdata\theaterdefinition folder and open your theater.lst file with Notepad.
4.Add this line:
ALPHAAdd-On Guam\terrdata\theaterdefinition\Guam.tdf
to the bottom of the list.
Save and close the theater.lst file.
5.Start the game and select GuamALPHA from the Theater list and click OK.You really don’t have to exit the game and restart after the switch. But,if it makes you feel better,by all means do so.
6. Go fly and have fun

Hi my friend.
Well in other theaters can you fly inside 3D world (e.g. the default Korea theater)?
If yes, did you follow the instructions correct as said Dave “demer928”?

sure, sure,no problem. I think the problem with my Guam theater may be OS(WinXP) related.

As far as the No Sound issue……some users have it, some users don’t !!! No idea why, ATM, and it is low on the priority list…sorry.
Not being able to enter 3D might have something to do with trying to use a laptop to play.GUAM is pretty demanding on the GFX end.

Dave,
I had a chance to start the bad boy up just now. Wow, man, you did an amazing job! I’m thoroughly impressed.Toonces -

There should be a lot of “WE” in that statement……LOL!, but thanks from all of us.
Enjoy the “First Blush” because again, something more wickedly twisted is on it’s way………LOL!!!

BTW the MIL Objs. in Camp are the bare min. for the Air war attrition scenario to EndGame……feel free to add, but I’d advise against removing any. Unless of course you intend to change the .tri file.
Also, there are a lot of “Easter Eggs” in this release to take into consideration. I put\left them in for others to stumble upon in hopes to inspire a more open discussion of why the same theater “BUGS” persist from one theater to another.
But, have at it, if you so decide.regards,
