Saitek X-52PRO Profile UPDATED 3-30-12
-
Hey guys, i just got this thing up and running today. I updated the drivers, extracted the files, printed out the descriptions, and got in the air. Everything appeared to be working very smoothly but i have stumbled across a strange bug. I beleive that when I use secondary functions using the pinky switch it sometimes causes the controls to freeze. I can still manipulate intruments in the cockpit with the keyboard and mouse, but the joystick and throttle do not accept any kind of input. Also the display on the throttle freezes up at this point. Finally, i can not ctrl alt del, or alt f4 out of the sim. I can exit to desktop, but it gets stuck at a black screen with the small white icon of a little guy parachuting. The only thing i can do to fix it then is to manually shut off my computer.
Final note… this bug happened multiple times tonight, once i believe it was in combination with pinky and fire b. The other i beleive was pinky switch and rotary(gain inc/dec).
Any input would be appreciated.
This exact event happened to me all the time using this profile until I built a new system/computer; since the new puter it’s never happened again. What are your system specs?

The radar is associated ministick and does not work when it is actuated downward (F9 cursor down). Any suggestions to fix?
Not work when Trackir is on (keys are configured as HD say). Ministick runs with F9 cursor down when trackir is off
-
Just downloaded profile and working like a charm! Love that radar cursor on mini-stick. But a noob question: Radar range on y-axis, what does it do exactly? to change the range of the radar ie 5-10-20-40-80-160 is controlled by separate control. The radar elevation on x-axis works fine, but “radar range” doesn’t seem to do anything. And also what does the “gain” do? Sorry but don’t know much about finer aspects of radar operation.
-
Gain is contrast in AG master mode as well as TGP zoom.
-
Thanks sthalik, I’ve only been doint A2A so far. No mud-moving yet. But what about the “range” assigned to axis. what’s it meant to do? Is it the same as the gain? It seems strange to have two different controls for “range” one stepwise and one on axis.
-
Digital is for people lacking an axis. Analog axis is proper.
-
Okay, then something is wrong. I’ve assigned the radar range to the Y-axis rotary on my X-52, using Hard~Decks profile. It’s great, but the rotary is not changing my radar range at all. I go to MRM override, and the buttons to change the range work, but not the rotary. Tried the same rotary to do elevation and it works, but change it back to range again and it does nothing. Any idea what’s going on? Is it meant to change the radar range, ie that number on the top left of the MFD?

The Range Knob assigned to Rotary 1 (Axis) is a TGP (Targeting Pod) range control. The TGP can be used in any mode, NAV, A-A, A-G, DGFT, MRM…etc. It is basically a zoom feature.
The Sensor Gain assigned to Pinky+Rotary 1, as Sthalik mentioned , controls the Contrast while using any of the A-G master modes in the FCR…GM, GMT and SEA stand for (Ground Map, Ground Moving Target and Sea, respectively)
Radar Range, which is assigned to Pinky+POV 2, is used to change FCR radar range from 5nm-10nm-20nm-40nm-80nm rapidly if needed. It works in NAV, A-A, and A-G modes.
-
Ah, now I get it. The Range is not for FCR, but for targeting pod. I need to do more reading. I’ve only been using the FCR and dogfight override. So much to learn!! Sorry for being so ignorant, but the only other flight game/sim (more game) I’ve spent any time in is Total air war by DID, and EF2000 before that. That was really simple compared to Falcon.
-
No worries.

My turn with some problems. I’ve set the Rotateries etc. in accordance with HD’s screen shots. Several buttons on my X-52 Pro work satisfactorily but the following are not doing so. There are quiet a few.
1. Throttle Hat - no pinkie reactions at all.
2. Fire E - Not ‘Uncage’ but HOTAS Range Knob Up
and no Radar Standby at all.
3. Mouse Fire button - no ‘Cursor Zero’ but ‘LMFD OSB-9’
4.Mouse Wheel - no Pinkie reactions at all.
5. POV 2 - All OK but instead of ‘Azimuth’ I get ‘LMFD OSB18’
6. Fire A - not ‘View Centre/Aligh Track IR’ but 'View - Toggle SA bar
7. Launch - no ‘Pickle Weapon’ but ‘Eject’ in plain Mode 1
8. POV 2 - No ‘DMS’ as shown but all ‘TMS’
9. Trigger - Nothing showing on 2nd Detend at all. No ‘Guns’
10. Toggles - 5 & 6 are stopped about each performing the others job.
3 & 4 with Pinkie not ‘HUD Dimmer’ but ‘Sim brightness’
Otherwise all is well!I’d appreciate some help here as well, if you would.
Thank you. -
with update 5 and a fresh install of the drivers/software/this profile, when i press fire a in mode one to center track ir, the SA bar(i think that is what its called) appears in the bottom left of the screen.
Reading the above post more clearly it appears i may have more of the same issues, perhaps it is due to new software?
I am on 7.0.27.13 for software and driver.

It appears with the newest updates all around that this profile is broken

Maybe someone had the issue I have but when I use Pinky+Launch Button, my bombs+tanks are jettisoned but the right mfd stay on the emergency jettison screen. I have to push manually the jettison button (with the mouse) and release it in order to make the right mfd back to normal. Any solution for this ?

Sure seems that way….:-(
I am working toward a solution.
If I cannot find one, I will provide a download link and instructions to install older drivers that will work with this profile.
Please accept my apologies for not giving this issue my full attention much earlier.

Looking forward to this updated profile HD!

This profile is…rather incredible. The simple mechanics (things needed for basic takeoff/flight maneuvers/landing) feel much much more conveniently and intuitively bound than the default BMS profile/keybindings. I can actually deactivate the parking brakes now, something that, as you could imagine, helps tremendously for takeoff. I haven’t fiddled around with the more advanced functions (still trying to re-indoctrinate myself to the game; haven’t played Falcon 4.0 since I was a kid), but it seems like all the important stuff is where I don’t have to trawl through densely-packed, multi-colored text to find it on the keyboard chart.
One thing I did notice, though, is that the control for the throttle defaulted to the slider as opposed to the Z axis (the actual throttle lever). While easy to fix, it did leave the slider unbound, and I’ve yet to find a way to re-associate it with the airbrakes. Not that it’s a huge deal, since the airbrakes are bound to B and V without any modifier keys and therefore quick to access. Still, I’d like to know if there’s a way I can get the slider re-bound for the sake of convenience.
Cheers, mate, and keep up the excellent work.
Addendum: What is the push-to-talk button for IVC? I’ve scoured both the keyboard chart and the in-game keybinding menu, but can’t find it. Is it the clutch button? Because when I push it, the throttle’s MFD reads “PTT Teamspeak”.

Hi, thanks for your profile but right now I think there’s a problem with it. If I look in the profiler all the Primary mode is blank like no key have been set up. Emergency had some sets and Primary + pinky too.
Hope you can help me !
thanks

ok i just figured out The problem is my joystik not on ID 0 because of my ch pedals. The problem right now is even with the joystick ID# swapper I can’t set to id 0 only on id 1
