I used the installer 2.04 version.
Ok, just be aware the installer was created around 2012-02-01 and so replaces some of the u5 files with older versions.
IIRC it should work with u5 but you will need to disable the mod and restore the u5 versions before making bug reports.

Hi, I just installed Molnis’ 80’s theater, which includes this mod. I have not used it before, but I find the top of the HUD frame completely obscures the upper half if the gun funnel in dogfight mode and whatever is there in the other modes. Can this be adjusted in any way using the .dat files? has anyone else noticed this issue? Or is it somehow specific to the filers included in the theater mod….
Thank you, Mark

thats normal (or at least I assume so). thats what happens to me…
now, what would be nice is having it adjusted to fit - although I guess we would need a block 40/42 -43-1-1…

IIRC by using TrackIR/6DOF and adjusting your head position you are able to “see” all the elements of the HUD - just not at the same time.

Yes, IIRC in the relevant 3dckpit.dat, etc however I don’t think I could better the current default without losing elements from the bottom of the HUD in other modes.

No, it’s a current issue with the Block 40 and Pilot Mods for none TrackIR users. However the pilot’s eye position might be adjustable in game in a later BMS version and hopefully it will fix this.
-
so, someone should donate a block 40 before or after CCIP type -34, so we can see why the block 40 HUD does not fit…
-
Is it possible to have a mod pack without the pilot? Just the cockpitmodel LODs, nothing more…
-
How to install this with update 6?
-
The method is the same, DL and intall. Only problem that you will have different DB then U6, because as I know small DB changes were made since U4 and the DB which contains the pit is based on much older DB.
IMHO should be released the pack independently with and integration description.

…-43-1-1…
-43? What T.O. is that?

CCIP did not change the HUD, not in the USAF, which AFAIK, is the only one actually doing CCIP. Other countries or F-16 users call their update differently AFAIK.
Turkish F-16 are changing HUD. ROKAF is mix on their block 52, etc. -

Too bad, in that case I won’t use it as it may introduce other problems.
Any way to workaround?

For my MOD Ramsay have exported the cockpit stuff. Theoretically I can do the doc and I can upload the LODs. I will test today.

Molni, have you managed to get this complete? Thank you very much in advance - I’d love to use the Blk40 HUD with U6.

Ask Ramsey. The method is not so complicated. You need the right cockpit dat files and you have to overwrite with LE the LODs what are used the parents what are listed in the dat file.
I have these lines in my MOD.
// the LOD models to use.
cockpitmodel 3138;
cockpitmodel2 3139;
cockpitmodel3 3140;
cockpithudmodel 3141;
cockpitcanopymodel 3142;The comment in wrong because the numbers are parents and each parents has only one LOD. These sould be replaced with the LODs of F-16C 40/42’s pit.

Oh, I probably won’t be able to pull this off - I have no experience at all with falcon modding I don’t know what LE is where the LODs are put what are the parents and which dat file Thanks anyway - I’ll rather try to replace Blk40s in Osan for 50s in the campaign (at least I hope it is doable in the default editor)
-
Overwriting the LODs is easy enough, but what’s the deal with .dat files? I can’t find any tutorials explaining what you’re supposed to do with them.
-
thats the easy part those are copy and paste into there respective folders
-
Aha. But does this come with the pilot model? I saw someone else post that they would like the manual install to come without the pilot….as would I.
-
The last link on the front page is the manual install pack. and lod 3 and cockpit hud are the only ones you need for everything to work minus the pilot body. Thats how I have it set up now
-
So just cockpitmodel3.lod and cockpithudmodel.lod, plus the .dat files? I’ve heard that the .lods are not MP critical, is it the same for .dat files?
