RELEASE: Blk40/42 HUD Mod
-
Too bad, in that case I won’t use it as it may introduce other problems.
Any way to workaround?
For my MOD Ramsay have exported the cockpit stuff. Theoretically I can do the doc and I can upload the LODs. I will test today.

Molni, have you managed to get this complete? Thank you very much in advance - I’d love to use the Blk40 HUD with U6.

Ask Ramsey. The method is not so complicated. You need the right cockpit dat files and you have to overwrite with LE the LODs what are used the parents what are listed in the dat file.
I have these lines in my MOD.
// the LOD models to use.
cockpitmodel 3138;
cockpitmodel2 3139;
cockpitmodel3 3140;
cockpithudmodel 3141;
cockpitcanopymodel 3142;The comment in wrong because the numbers are parents and each parents has only one LOD. These sould be replaced with the LODs of F-16C 40/42’s pit.

Oh, I probably won’t be able to pull this off - I have no experience at all with falcon modding I don’t know what LE is where the LODs are put what are the parents and which dat file Thanks anyway - I’ll rather try to replace Blk40s in Osan for 50s in the campaign (at least I hope it is doable in the default editor)
-
Overwriting the LODs is easy enough, but what’s the deal with .dat files? I can’t find any tutorials explaining what you’re supposed to do with them.
-
thats the easy part those are copy and paste into there respective folders
-
Aha. But does this come with the pilot model? I saw someone else post that they would like the manual install to come without the pilot….as would I.
-
The last link on the front page is the manual install pack. and lod 3 and cockpit hud are the only ones you need for everything to work minus the pilot body. Thats how I have it set up now
-
So just cockpitmodel3.lod and cockpithudmodel.lod, plus the .dat files? I’ve heard that the .lods are not MP critical, is it the same for .dat files?
-
yup those are the only files you need. and none are MP critical
-
Nice, thanks.
-
soo where do i put the .lod files???
-
-
whoop!! whoop!! nice job on this one … i get a pilot with legs and the kneeboards that work…
-
Ok…what did I do wrong this time? I don’t recall this happening the last time I installed the HUD.
-
I dont remember what the name of the number is. i think its the number in the 3000’s. Any who you need to make sure you go back into LOD editor and update them one by one otherwise you get that. Its happened to me before
-
I just remembered, I think it might have something to do with the lines in the .dat file. I didn’t change those–the tutorials I follow never mention that part.
EDIT Scratch that. I think the problem is that I installed the 40/42 HUD in the POH theater, which has a separate obj folder but uses the KTO cockpit art .dat folders. I think there’s a mismatch between the numbers in the 40/42 cockpit art files in KTO and the numbers in the LODs in POH.
-
well done sir

Something isn’t making sense here. I have everything installed correctly but I am still missing: VVI, AOA, SAI, Altimeter numbers, HSI numbers, throttle, AUX TACAN numbers.
// the LOD models to use.
cockpitmodel 1;
cockpitmodel2 2;
cockpitmodel3 3120;
cockpithudmodel 3121;
cockpitcanopymodel 3123;
cockpitrttcanopymodel 6;
cockpitwingsmodel 3109;
cockpitwingsdfmodel 3109;
cockpitmodel_empty 3118;
cockpitcanopymodel_empty 3119;I replaced the LODs accordingly and it should be correct, but it isn’t working.
