Mission Commander beta release
-
Hi Alfagolf,
Thanks for the report, but I can’t do anything with it.
The only thing you are saying is that you get a error.
There is no magic in the error report that tells a coder what to do.- What theater are you using.
- Did you mod your install that has anything to do with this.
- What do you do to get this error. (can you reproduce it)
- Send me the mission where you get this error with.
Any other usefull information is welcome
gr Falcas
Sorry, I’m not a coder, anyway:
- Korea std theater
- Fresh U7 install with all JanHas mods (e.g. Launch Vipers)
- To reproduce the error simply load the attached mission (it’s only an easy training mission with several flights)
I don’use MC very often, thanks anyway for your efforts and especially for WDP, great software!
Merry Xmas to everybody

Sorry if already answered - can you change the heading of a ground unit in MC? Thx

Depends on what you mean. There is a value “heading” for each battalion, but this one is disabled (for now) as this doesn’t do much for ground units.

MC and WDP is really something awesome, i can’t stop being amazed by those tools you made Falcas. Really a good job.

I’ve searched a long time to answer a simple question but have not found the answer. Can you set munitions supply to zero for certain munitions for a squadron in a TE?
-
Text Strings
- Added, Option to edit the Objective strings.
I’m not sure that the process I am using is correct. I open either a savex.cam or te_new.tac. Click the Text Strings tab, then click add. I get the dialog and type the desired string, and hit apply. I scroll to the bottom of the list and see this, instead of my string. Is there another process i need to use? In previous versions, i was able to add the name of a objective by simply typing into the drop-down for the objective properties, now its saying i must add it through the Text Strings tab. So i am stuck here. I am not getting any errors, and no indications that anything is going wrong except for the blank entry at the bottom of the list. Additionally i have tried multiple strings such as test, or test string, or other combinations of spaces and no spaces. Thanks in advance!
**Additionally as a follow up, I also tried doing the same thing with a fresh install of BMS without our custom theater, and had the same results.
-
use tac edit to rename objectives. in case u do u loose mp compatibility.
-
I used tac edit as my workaround, however i just wanted to report it. But, since I create the custom theaters for the 1st VFW, I can rest assured that my MP compatibility will be intact. I do appreciate the advice though!

Hi Falcas,
I met some problem using the MC to edit Balkan 3.0 theater campaign save files. Clean UPDATE7 with only Balkan 3.0, .NET4.0 with WIN7 64, MC ver0.3.10.0
When the first time locating BMS, the MC will show an error:after that , loading a save file will pop up an error:

Hi Foxwxl,
MC does not have a “support” for a theater, it will handle any theater that will work with BMS.
But sometimes the theater builders do funny things that where not expected. That said, and keep in mind that I am not currently running Balkans 3.0…
Make sure you have the Balkan 3.0 theater selected in BMS. At least close BMS once, this will make sure the selected theater is written in the registry.
When that is done, start up MC. MC will check the registry and see that you have selected Balkans 3.0 in BMS.
When you open a mission from Balkans 3.0 in MC now, you will be asked if you want to use database XXX or Balkans 3.0
Select Balkans 3.0 and you should be fine.Gr Falcas

Thx for the reply Falcas
I’ve tried what U said, but no joy , still pop up the error window when loading any Balkan3.0 saves.
And the MC can actually recognize the Balkan theater. The status bar below the MC shows “Theater selected in Falcon 4.32.7 :Balkans”.
The balkans file path is like this: BMS4\Data\Add-On Balkans\Campaign\Balkans No know whether this interferes MC

Installed Balkans 3.0 and it works fine here.

Same here. Works fine

Finally I found the problem
It’s the Unicode setting of the OS cause the problem.
After change it to “ENGLISH(US)” errors gone, people met problems with this and using a NONE english OS should have a try.
Thx buddy

Hi Falcas, thans a lot for mission commander and keep up the good work!
I have found a little problem, I use Mission commander 0.3.10.0 with win7 64bit.
First I set the right folder by clicking on button labeled “Falcon Location” (C:\Falcon BMS 4.32 for me).
When I open KTO te_new.tac, save0.cam, save1.cam or save2.cam and go to objective I cannot export/import (I got every button disabled) and I read “Only available for saveX.cam or te_new.tac files”, but I ma using one of those.
Obviously to do that I can use Tacedit, but it’s strange as it seems like MC do not identify the files properly or maybe some errors on my side I don’t understand.
Thanks a lot for your time on this! -
Hi Soul_IT,
Funny as it works fine here.
That the buttons are disabled is because MC does not see the files as the scenario files.
Do you select the default file or did you rename them?Gr Falcas
-
Sorry for the late reply, I tested again with KTO standard default files “te_new.tac, save0.cam, save1.cam”, I tested again but it still don’t work.
Maybe something wrong on my end? -
I don’t know if it was already discussed, is possible to add vehicles to a battalion other than the ones already present? For example, adding MANPADs to a battalion that doesn’t have them…

No, that is not possible. That needs a database change.

Hi Falcas,
I got the same error report as Alfagolf with the attached TE.
It occurs when I select the folder “Units” in MC.
The problem starts after I added package 1606. I tried to remove the package in Falcon editor, but that didn’t solve the problem.
The TE is still edit- and flyable in Falcon.Martin
