Pilot model fo F-16

I’m having this issue leaning/looking around with Track IR, trying to get a better look at the switches
You need X axes in TrackIR. IMO the best way is to set for X axes a non movement in the middle of the curves and then as much as you need.
You cannot read anything on the maps… yes? I think you should reduce the light reflection effects, isn’t it?Earlybite

I am using Yassy’s TrackIR profile.
Not too concerned about the knee chart stuff, but you can see the view freaks out when I lean/look to view the switches on the side of the legs.

OK, I see. I use this profile too, with liitle changes (e.g. faster X axes), but I do not have this problem…
I use TrackIR v. 4 with latest 5.xxx software.
What are you using with TrackIR? Clip, or clip pro? Maybe your clip then looses contact with the TrakIR? -
Hat clip and TrackIR 4 Pro with latest software.

Then, IMO and if you hadn’t changed the profile, your clip looses contact with the cam.
Have you tried another profile, e.g. the default coming with TrackIR? If it still occurs, then IMO it’s hardware sided.
From “outside” hard to know why…maybe someone else knows more.Greeting

To me it looks like you are at the TIR sensor limit.
Re- adjust your TIR sensor and/or raise your head a little before re- centering TIR.
-
Adjusted the sensor, still have the problem. Now I can’t seem to lean left, it tweaks out. Pretty sure it’s not a hardware issue as it works just fine without the pilot mod.

Was trying to make this work in latest BMS update 7, and had issues. Had to replace not only LOD 82 but also LOD 7318 (FYI) It was complicated but started to work eventually
Also: thanks.
Lastly: a version without legs, just the pads would be cool , to avoid any interference. (easier to look around IRL, even with TIR)

How to install this mod with legs’s only:
1. Download the standard installation and onlylegs.lod file (on top of this page).
2. Proceed with normal installation.
3. When you have to replace the cockpit file with loaded.lod use onlylegs.lod instead
4. Finish the installation and have fun!or
If you already done a normal install, you can follow Eagle’s instructions:
Hello, I need help installing the Pilot Model into BMS. I have trying doing it with Lod editor following the instructions stated in the readme file within the Pilot model download.
I get into BMS and still find the seat empty. Is there something I not doing correctly? Kindly help out -
take a look here… all the files and the guide is there. The guide is for Aegean theater cause as I understood in some other theaters the pilot body goes to other ct number… so find and replace the correct.

I get into BMS and still find the seat empty. Is there something I not doing correctly? Kindly help outHere’s how it works for me:
- Backup your Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Terrdata\objects folder
- Launch LE and point it to KoreaObj.HDR from that folder
- Click ‘Normal’ button with 0 beside it
- Click on ‘1’ button with ‘1’ beside it
- Click “Select lod”
- Type in 82 and open
- Verify it’s a pit > Utilities > “Model Viewer - by LOD #” > OK
- Action > Replace Model
- Point to legsonly.LOD (probably better than full body LOD, but your choice)
- OK
- Repeat Steps 5 to 10 for LOD 7318 instead of 82
- Action > Append/Replace Texture
- Select the two texture files “8018.dds” “8019.dds”
- Open
- Click Exit LE
You can later just verify the two lods with the Model Viewer step above, check that the pilot is there
-
Thanks Bn880 and Arty, I will try out your guides and post a feedback on outcome. Cheers

Hello Bn880, I have just followed your steps, still no luck getting the pilot model. I used the LOD viewer to check the installation and I can see the legs in there but during flight in korea campaign, f-16 seat is still empty. I am actually looking forward to getting kneeboard installed. This is quite tricky. I will keep at it though. Any further advise is greatly appreciated.
Once again, thanks. -

https://www.mediafire.com/folder/l7pxkacaw287v//pilot%20bodyI eventually just working following this guide above. The legonly.lod looks better. I had the Pilot.lod in there initially and it messed up a number dials, the HSD indicators. I change it with the onlyleg.lod and thing are better with exception of not being able to see the Jammer/chaff panel. ie the ECM panel. Nice to have working now
Thanks to you guys for your help. -
LOD Editor gives me a migraine, any chance someone could make an installer for this??? PLEASE…???

True LOD editor could be quite tough to grasp. I am presently having some unusual occurrences within the Korean theatre. Apart from the pilot model, I also used the lod editor to install New tree model to replace the stock tree. I have noticed that the trees appears in unusual places in my airbase(too close to taxi lane.). The most bizarred of them all is whenever I drop a bomb, this new trees appears at the spot the bomb impacted.
I hope replacing the korean.hdr with the backup would clear this -

How do you install the pilot model to ITO v0.99?
Setting up the pilot mod for Korea is no problem (thanks to all who provided tutorials and videos! :)), but 8018.dds and 8019.dds are already present in terrdata\Israel\objects\KoreaObj. Following the first steps in all tutorials would mean overwriting these files, which doesn’t seem to be a good idea. I don’t want to blow up my ITO install - and DIY trial-and-error doesn’t sound good either.
Any hints and advices on the proper installation sequence will be much appreciated.
Cheers,
EggsP.S @midnabreu: nice first post
Edit: I got it working. Found some valuable info in ITO 0.96 discussions:
There are different parents and LODS for cockpits of IAF aircraft in IT. If originally you needed to edit parent 2, then the matching parents in IT are 3145 (lod 7387) and 3147 (lod 7389). Edit both of these, and parent 2 for the pilot model to appear in all aircraft.
Just beware that a model change changes the DB and is possibly multiplayer critical.
