Falcon MFD Software for android tablets
-
i found a couple of problems, first off, i selected bms.key on the MFD server but forgot i had keystrokes.key in bms, so i tried to change the server to bms.key but it complained about unassigned keys (even though its a statdard installation)
so i change bms to use keystroke.key and that helps
then i tried starting bms and going to the tactical engagement screen
then start the server and then start android app
then go server testing mode and enter android ip
then check msg and img, both ok
then press read ‘start reading falcon mfd’
then in bms, takeoffnow one time i did this and the buttons on the android became active, would switch the mfds etc. but there was nothing coming back to the android, the mfd displays were not updated.
i’ve also tried the following.
start bms, go launch, tactical mission, 03 - landing, commit, in ‘mission schedule’ screen
start server
start android app
server testing mode, enter ip, send msg an img, ok
press ‘start reading falcon mfd’ (nothing happens in server)
in bms takoff
in flight, buttons on android are active but mfd display not updatedcan someone please given me a step my step guide as to the exact order to start off the server, the android ap and bms. i’ve read the docs 20 times but can’t figure it out
thanks, steve

Firstl you dont need to press any button on Testing Part.
run apk on android , enter setting parts and change ip with your server ip.
than close apk , and start again.
If every thing is okey you should see green light on server (Lf MFD Active . . .)But you have a bigger problem.
press ‘start reading falcon mfd’ (nothing happens in server)
Server can not read your Falcon Data.
Which operating system using. -
win 8.1
i start the server, then i start the apk, then the 3 greens light on the server, so its connected right?
but there is no button '‘start reading falcon mfd’ on the server startup screen, the only place i’ve seen that is on the testing
part pageplease explain exactly what order i should be doing things,
thanks for all your help, steve

komurcu thanks for the app mate its great
did you see my message about a possible wired version though USB?
Or is this not possible?Thanks
edit ummm it might be that the curser movement on me android is slow because I noticed that when I have fcr and TGP running I am only getting 22fps that is why its laggy maybe?
how can I get more fps but not loose to much eye candy?
though saying that the curser movement on the actual computer screen is smooth even with 22 fps? its just laggy and slow on me android screen even if I set update time to 50 and not 100
-
i tried your way,
i just start server -OK
start apk -OK (3 green on server indicate connected ok right?)
start falcon - OK
start mission and it works - (no, the server quits and then shortly after that, the apk tells me connection to server lost)maybe its a win 8.1 problem?
I dont click start reading falcon mfd etc it just works for me

i tried running the server as admin, no change, just crashes when game running.
yes, i allowed it through fire wall.
as i said, its communicating just fine, it just crashes the moment i run the game.
i can install msvc and try debug it i guess
thx

I really do like this app its great would be amazing if one day we do get a version that runs VIA USB cable might make it run so smooth.

i wouldn’t be too sure about that. the USB connection is a lot slower that the network. the latency may be less but i know it’s VERY difficult for a program to connect to android via usb

Komurcu, one thing that might help some people have crashes, I have a little lag in my tablet and in trying to fix I noticed when I disable Double Resolution Cockpit Displays in the config editor (settings>hadrware>) then restart BMS the app and server continually crashed, when they did work I would not get keypresses or mfd displays in the app. I turned Double Resolution Cockpit Displays back on in the config editor restarted BMS then the app and everything worked fine. I was able to recreate the problem on my system. Maybe this can help other people that are having crashes.

very interesting, i have Double Resolution Cockpit Displays off, i’ll try that and see what happens.
OK, that makes a big difference, when i enable ‘Double Resolution Cockpit Displays’ the server doesn’t crash and the apk displays the MFDs and the buttons work fine.
thanks for the tip, this is a great tool to have.
