what version of balkan is that one ? imprresive

Last Wednesday 6 BVT pilots were tasked to take out 2 enemy bridges. Three 2-ship flights (escort, sead & strike) flew out of Kunsan for this COMAO.
A video of the strike lead (Faan) gives a nice view of the mission.jeeez you need to practice your crosswing landings

Balkans 3.0 with some skins added (PhilipeS and neozino’s Mig 21)

I know! It’s a weakness of mine I need to practice some more…

Had a beautiful flight to Osan afb, it was awesome coming back to BMS.

Terminator@shadowblade, thanks, that Arma 3 stuff is thanks to the splendid cam which is a tool included in the editor not like previous versions with the shortcut “sqs” stuff to get cinematic pics, so now basically when you are in the editor you can stop the action and look at anything on the entire map, zoom and focus like a real camera, actually the eye fly cam in BMS is similar if it were just easier to use and had more zoom options it would be great.
Recently tried out Arrows NVG mod on an OCA strike on Koksan in the TE……

Impressive shots, composition, smoothness and setting. Are these edits or plain screendumps?
Care to share your hardware, hardware- and game settings, addons etc?
Really nice. -

Really nice.Ice, the only editing is cropping the top and bottom to remove text and sharpened by a tiny amount like 9% my system is certainly not state of the art…. AMD 4.0ghz quad, 4 gig’s ram, Radeon 7770 1gb I don’t have any of the new models of any aircraft installed or any other models, only skins and small stuff like cockpit lighting, it was tough enough trying to get this far without the dreaded LOD editor, other than that Tom’s tiles on Kotor and Aegean. I mean I was amazed at how good the Balkans looked given that when I last had BMS fired up was just after release when none of this stuff was available even hi-tiles, performance wise on the Balkans is a mixed bag if I’m in cockpit view or exterior of my own aircraft I can get about 35-40fps which is about 20fps less than I get in another theatre but certainly playable, but if I try to cycle through any views, it’s a total slideshow, so that’s a no go, my settings…

Thanks for the feedback Slains.
There is a setting in your BMS config file (…\Falcon BMS 4.32\User\Config\falcon bms.cfg) to remove the overlay bars on your screenshots. Look for:set g_bPrettyScreenShot 1 // If set, PrtScr key will make pretty screenshots (no overlays) instead of normal ones (1=pretty, 0=normal)
This is the quality I get on a i5-3570K Ivy Bridge - ATI Radeon R7970 3GB DDR5 - 8GB DDR3-1600 Corsair on a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H. Nothing fancy tweaked in BMS.
First shot is the original, second with some small PSD efforts.Oh and get the nickname fixed.

First shot is the original, second with some small PSD efforts. Thanks for the config info;) it’s not really a big deal cropping the info bar off the bottom, kind of thing I used to do in videos in the past, the top crop is for the <paused>:D I can see from your pics that you’re not running at 1080p and that’s what makes the quality difference, screen resolution does really make a diffrence, it’s not really about any photoshop stuff, you will never get all the detail unless it’s running at 1920x1080 (and don’t re-size any images)</paused>

I don’t resize, and run on 1600 x 1200, as set ingame. So that is not causing any loss, I think. I’ll try running on 1920x1080. I’ll experiment more to get shots of the quality you present. Well …. I find they are high quality.
Cheers.

Just out of interest, what is regarded better for BMS in general, NVidia or AMD GFX?
Depends on card type/Block?
Got new rig sitting at home, but intend to replace its NVidia with pricey Power Colour (good review) AMD 7850.
