Is Falcon BMS close to the real thing?

Right, might as well be an iPhone game
Yea, I would like to see you put bms on an iPhone. Doubt very much you could fly it.

For the old-school 8-10 minute align? Nowadays they have that fancy 4-minute EGI if I’m not mistaken.
The one item on the list I wasn’t sure of! Hehe. I bet the INS is one of the more changed systems over the lifetime. BMS isn’t exactly the same as any of them is all I mean. Even on PX II/III jets there are so many alignment options and caveats. I don’t know the capabilities of the newest EGI but even older models could align in four min, it just wasn’t great. The long time for alignment is for gyrocompassing. The Earth only turns so fast so the only way to get suitable performance in less time is for the INU (LRGs for sure on anything new) to be sufficiently precise after less degrees of Earth rotation.
Apparently just having a GNSS and INS system doesn’t make it “EGI” it takes a low-level integration of raw data from the two systems to make it “embedded.” I don’t know if the H-764G is the current EGI used. I curious what’s the model number on the latest unit.
Edit: Looks like LN-260 current. And the brochure says a 4m “GC” (gyro compass) align so it probably gets to spec faster. Advertised in blended operation as better than the required INS spec 83:1 in Vx, Vy.

Lots of little things.
Landing light switch is 3 positions (taxi-off-landing).
Always have to enter Lat/Long before align.
Lots more options for dimming interior lights.
Squelch for radios.
Can start with one JFS bottle instead of both.
Can dial manual freq into backup UHF head.
RWR activity saturation.
The entire SMS back end.
Page-specific bright/contrast/sym MFD settings.
Smooth control of the depressed reticle.
Anything air conditioning or anti fog.
Several things about exterior lighting.
TACAN ident monitoring.
Have Quick.
D/B model cockpit.
Radar beacon use.
Several HARM/HAD features.
Several TGP features. It’s a lot of little things.
external lights dim
MIDS
IFF mode 4
UHF (M)WOD
KY58
Anti-ice
Antenna select
And that’s only considering default block50/52 type. Other types of F-16 have more differences (analog FLCS panel, CARAPACE, ATD, MLU HMD-MISC-RF-eyebrows labels/colors/location, EXT LIGHT master/covert/off, INT LIGHT, EHSI etc etc)It’s still closest to reality compared to any other mil jet sim out there though!

Nuclear consent procedure (for all those having a problem with a campaign lol)
-
anything else?
In RL you can’t drink alchohol or smoke during a flight.
Also, there would much less chance that your better half would interrupt your flight to take out the trash, or come to the dinner table.
Note the “less” part…
-
The BMS is the most free F-16 simulator developed and still developing ever….
Wait for 4.33 for some of the above and you will see …
Thanks God for keep share these amazing software and thanks everyone thats helps on that.
-
I am reasonably certain (maybe 4.33 will change this) that if you cut off Oxygen in BMS you won’t pass out and potentially wake up with brain damage at high altitudes.

Mine has a list of things that she can interrupt me for when I am playing Falcon. Also, appropriate activities she can engage in the in background. To many lights makes the TrackIR Squirrely.

external lights dim
MIDS
IFF mode 4
UHF (M)WOD
KY58
Anti-ice
Antenna selectTank Enerting
Max Power switch
accurate pre-flight flight control bit tests
realistic jamming/functional ECM panel (we are not getting that for a LONG while for security reasons)
nuclear consent (why bother)
jammer detection FCR mode. -
BIT FLCS is already in.
-
flight control bit switch functions. FLCS bit test swich lights up, but does not run through individual channels/tests.
-
Channel test are only for block 32 and below. Which is a whole different panel and system.
-
then i stand corrected.
-
No… bms simulates the blk 52 version of the A/C so you are not correct… anyway… it is close,
but sms is not complete… (manual imput of munitions/stores for example) fuse timing (already said) lighting options (both internal and external) some other stuff like systems checks (RALT for example)
btw I would love to see if the devs came up with a way to do proper ins/egi alignment. . (Inserting coordinates etc) -
Wasn’t it mainly blk 50? I thought 50 and 52 are just very close to each other.
-
This is and will always be a slippery slope. There are so many versions of the F-16. Lest say they add a EHSI to the block 50. Well some block 50 currently do not use it. Or block 50 ten years ago did not use it. Then people will complain they want the option for both. Then they do the same for the CMDS panel or the AIFF antennas and so forth. Block 25 where not able to carry TGP, now they do, but not all block 25. So how do we decide which one version of the block 25 does carry it or not? Do we go by year, by nation flying the block 25. This would get out hand so quickly.

jammer detection FCR mode.According to a BAF crewchief source, max power is non functional.
Used to be permanently working, but pilots had a bad habit of testing it sometimes. Even if used just for a second, it required mandatory engine review etc. So they disconnected the wire in peace time. Latest info to me says it hasn’t been reconnected again ever, even during ISAF/Libia etc. -
Yep, confirm ;).

jammer detection FCR mode.Yeah both of these are the kind of thing you need a T.O. 1F-16CM-34-1-1-1 to even think about implementing. Then, considering that if you do implement it, any American who torrents the game would be committing treason under the Arms Export Control Act… I wouldnt hold my breath.
Id like to see INFORMATION about the CIU-9492, let alone see that information make it into BMS.
What is the name of the FCR mode you are after?
