Falcon and arduino?
-
Yep, I did but I haven’t the info on this thread anyway I didn’t see anything about OLED screens. I’ll search again
[EDIT] Done, and no joy. Lot of thinks about headtrackers and something about servos but nothing about OLEDs
well ok then. maybe there is a reason the guys over at viperpits are not using arduinos as LED controllers…
but you can also look at eagle dynamics, some guys there are very into arduinos, like “whartsell” (arduino & helios) or “joe kurr” (arduino bridge)cheers,

If you can figure out how to get the data into the Arduino, I can give you the code you need to get it out of Falcon.

Thank you very much ASharpe. I will let you know when I’m there.
I saw how to read data from serial (USB) BMS PC with Arduino and C#. I also know the basics of reading data with C# from BMS.
My goal is a FFI or even fuel quantity display on Fuel gauge. I’ve just have to learn how to put info from arduino in the OLED in the correct graphic format, not just text. -
Thanks Morad.
Trueno I’ve searched in SimHQ and I couldn’t find the thread of that video.
I searched for Arduino, OLED, FFI, DED Fuel flow… No luck,
Could you be more specific?you would not find a link to any thread with that video as I’ve not written any
I’m in the process of backlogging posts on a dedicated blog.
but it’s still WIP. (I have yet to write the post for which this video will fit - it’s like “part III” and I’m not finished with part II post due to life, universe and everything).
blog link: http://pits.108vfs.orgI am however plan on having this project as Opensource (schematics, code and the whole lot) - so stay tuned
BTW - project already includes DED, FF, PFL, Indexers, and caution panel. with future expansions for CMDS, Eyebrow and the TWD lights. -
Thanks very much. I will!

what about using aic ?
http://www.vipercore.nl/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=93&Itemid=491http://www.vipercore.nl/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=89&Itemid=487
Is that an option?
Maybe you can use it for arduino to?
look at bottom of the manual

This is looking really promising, cant wait to try it out!

Well, it is not about finding ways to have a DED. There are some ways for that. It is about using OLED displays the easiest (and cheapest) way possible with BMS , for gauges, displays, etc
You can have an Arduino compatible PCB for USD$7 and an 0.96" OLED for less than 5 bucks… ¡That is a very cheap 1" gauge! -

It may be cheaper in terms of money but I am not sure that the time equivalent is going to be there.

Yep, I use three of those TFT for MFDs and ATD but tiny ones have not video display PCBs so only through other electronics it can be made.
Anyway, Uri_ba has updated his blog and now everything is there -
More progress

Yeah!!! Thx!!!

Hello, everybody.
I use the Oled solution from Arend (Viper Core)
with the software DEDUINO Version 0. 0. 1. 1 Falcon DED extractor for Arduino by Uri Ben Avraham.
Unfortunately, the ads sometimes spin in flight, is the problem known, or is newer software available?
Thanks and greetings

any follow up on this?
mainly: software-interface wise, is there any one-fits-all solution how to use ARDUINOS to drive UHF Backup, CMDS, DED, FF, PFL, and all analog gauges via either mini-screens (LCD,LED), servos or aircores?
thanks

Hello HiLok,
I would recommend F4toSerial. I’m not sure if it works for 4.34 but I hope so, as I want to drive all gauges.
I wrote my own code for the DED and PFD and all LEDs (driven by 2 Adruino Mega) for my pit.
If you have further questions, just let me know.
Have a great evening and greetz from Holzkirchen (very close to Munich ;))

Greetz, Tweetyopps sorry i posted the link didn’t realize you already mentioned it wasn’t stealing your kudos i should read all post carefully rather than speed reading
