Mud's Profile
-
Hi Mud,
I go into BMS and then I setup all the axis. I come out of BMS and I set those two files to Read Only. I then run your profile script in Target. Then I run BMS and find that all my axis have reset to default. I’m going to re install the whole thing again and let it install into the default directory. I’m thinking it might be where I have installed BMS, ie spare internal hard drive.

Hey Muley,
What you should do is run the script, then start BMS and set your axis settings and whatnot. Then exit BMS and set them to read-only.
After that BMS shouldn’t reset them when you start it “accidentally” without running the script first. -
Thanks Mud. That sorted it. The sequence of doing those steps is crucial. Made a short video to help a buddy out who was having the same problem. If it helps anyone else out.
Thanks for a great profile always use this when i fly BMS.

Glad you got it sorted, Muley! It’s often the most simple of things we miss

Hi Mud,
Many thanks for the profile but I seem to have issues getting it to work.
I have loaded the KEY into BMS. I ran the TMC file from the Target GUI but im not sure if it has really worked or not. None of the joystick buttons work and the throttle is not mapped as the indication shows.
I have grabbed a screen shot of the script running and hopefully it will make more sense to you as it makes zero sense to me!!!

Hmmm, that’s odd. I do launch my script from the TARGET Script Editor (looks a bit different at least). Perhaps you could give that a go.
-
You must launch the tmc file from the Script Editor and not the GUI application.

Hi All,
I have run the script from the script editor and no difference.
The buttons which are marked as DX do not seem to work. In my own mapping when I put it as a key press it seems to be ok and the keypress actions as the mapping (done from the GUI- dont have the programming background to do the script editor).
Do you think its a joystick problem? I have only just bought it but its at the latest firmware and all the buttons seem to press ok. When I have loaded my keypressed to a script in the GUI they seem to work. Hence the confusion on why when I follow the instructions for loading the mapping and it does not go as planned im a bit upset and confused.
Help and advice wanted.
Regards

Hey FlyingSpanner,
The buttons which are marked as DX do not seem to work.
Where don’t they seem to work? In the cockpit, or in Windows, …?
-
Hey Mud,
Turns out it is a compatibility issue with my Saitek Pro Rudder pedals.
Loaded all the stuff onto a laptop and it worked fine. Tried it back on desktop sans pedals and operations ok. (I think) just need to try and work out how to operate the buttons now!
Thanks

Thanks for the info, FlyingSpanner. Good to know!

Hi Mud, still seeming to have problems with the script though.
The buttons do not seem to work as advertised in the BMS manual.
For example. I run the script and for DMS hat it’s all mapped out. Press right, the test goes DMS right.
However when I go into instant action and press DMS right. Nothing happens. Any idea of what this can be?

DMS right should cycle through the pages of your right MFD. I don’t see why that wouldn’t work unless you have only 1 page on the right MFD.
-
Tried calling TM, they say that its a problem with the script but I dont think so.
When I run the script from the script editor and then go to the event tester then when I press the hats nothing happens regards to keystrokes.
Unfortunately I dont know enough about the programming to work out if this is correct.
Suggestions.

Sorry to be a pain in the butt. Is there a way i can edit the profile in the TARGET graphic editor. I want use the slider on the throttle to zoom in and out with the TGP?

There’s no need to edit the script for that. You just have to set it in BMS Advanced Controller options => Avionics => Range Knob
Set it to Slider - Thrustmaster Combined.Br,

You are the man Mud!!!
Cheers!

I’m getting this weird issue where the Master Mode and Pinky Buttons seem to sort of respond badly. I often have to click them repeatedly for prolonged periods of time to get them to provide an input. Everything else works splendidly, and both buttons work just as well in other sims. Any idea what that could be about?
-
Hey Scrim,
That’s odd. I’ve never experienced this. I’d test the buttons in the Windows Game controller settings => properties to check if they are indeed functioning properly.

Just tried it, and it only seems to happen when using the script. What I’m seeing is these two buttons only very briefly lighting up regardless of how long they are depressed, a few times not at all, whereas similar buttons such as the Pickle button are lit for as long as the button is depressed. When not running the script, they work normally.
