BMS Key File Help

Hi Mike,
this is rather simple, assuming you mean the DX assignments.
Open your key file with an editor. Scroll all the way down.
You’ll notice, that the appearence of the code lines will change.
First you have something like this: SimTriggerFirstDetent -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “STICK: FIRST TRIGGER DETENT”
At the end of your file you’ll find this: SimTriggerFirstDetent 0 -1 -2 0 0x0 0
Delete the latter ones.

I am trying to figure a way to bind one of my X45 buttons to the Teamspeak PTT function. It would require me to get rid of Cursor Enable, but I never seem to need to use that. I thought I swapped the right callbacks around in my keyfile, but the button is still Cursor Enable.
I see I can use the actual throttle button in Teamspeak options, will BMS still honor that even if it’s set to CursorEnable?
-
Yes,
if you assign both (PTT & Cursor enable) via DX both functions will be invoked at the same time once the button is pressed. -
Hi Kolbe.
I just try to figure out how to fly the Eagle after long time again (Original Falcon4 was my last experience)
Sorry maybe I am just too stupid but if I try to get the ECM working(Jamming) nothing happens if I use Shift-Alt-i and Shift- Alt-o.
No Switch changes the position and the green Enbl or what the sign is for working ECM does not appear(Near the Master Arm Switch)I´m realy not experienced in the Syntax of this SIM.Afair in the old game the commands where much easier to understand and recognaice what is what.
I use your full key v1.6.And btw I dont have any Hotas -like Stuff, just an simple Extreme 3D pro Stick.
Maybe you can find the mistake I made?Solved got an unrecognised mapping cange for cms keys. All working fine. sorry
-
hi could you help please
ive been learning this great sim for a few days now and no wonder why I am struggling a lot of the keys as STD are not mapped like
dms down etc
does this map all keys so at least i dont have to go through them all ?
I see the files in the BMS folder how do i install them?
Thanks

I am trying to find the Datalink (on?) key. People I fly with don’t use your keystrokes and have inadequate hardware, so their shortcut for datalink is CTRL + O. I saw the callback for it in the Excel file, but is it listed in the Setup/Controllers screen? Or better yet is there a button in the 3D pit I can look for? I know I click ASSGN on MFD and it turns to CONT but thats when I’m told to hit CTRL O

I am not aware of a shortcut button in the 3D cockpit. I select the “Assign” button on the MFD to make it “Cont”. I then select “Ctrl O” on the keyboard. Be sure you use alpha “O” and not the numberic “0”…and hold both keys down for a few seconds.

That’s what I was told by my flying mates but wasn’t sure if that was in Kolbes file. Maybe I didn’t hold it down long enough. However I found on my HOTAS Comms Switch Left does it

Hey, it’s me again I finally have time to make myself a keystroke file from scratch, using the Excel generator
I got myself one of those 8-inch Windows tablets lately and a bluetooth keyboard, and turns out I can play BMS on it! Since both the number of keys and key size are a bit less I wanted to make a keystroke file more suited for it. Anyway, after a few weeks of making the keystroke file I encountered a few bugs in the Excel generator.
The ones I’ve found so far:
The Num * problem
Keyboard Flight Control Rudder Left/Right Callback are switched
HOTAS Stick Trim: Should be Hat Up/Down/Left/Right, instead of elevator up/down aileron left/right
3rd Party Software Key Name is for German Keyboard only
Set Key ComboI’ve corrected those and uploaded it here:
http://martinleehb.heliohost.org/hobbies/BMS-Keyfile-Generator%201_6.xlsI must thank Kolbe again for this great tool, now I can have a quick dogfight whenever I can sit down (and keep myself from falling asleep in lecture on some particularly tiring days )
-
but how it works with the Hotas Warthog?
-
Does anybody have a quick link to a program I once saw… That lets you load a key file… And then displays a keyboard. Layout showing what’s mapped where?
I know I have it somewhere but can’t put my hands on it.Edit - Found it… Its called PS Keys… an amazing piece of work from our resident genius… Dunc! Thanks again mate…

Hi Martin:
Very nice keys editor! Need help tho…
I prefer to make a few changes to an existing keyfile layout then complete a new one from scratch. If available, appreciate it if you upload different versions of your editor already preloaded with the default BMS keys files. Uploading an version of editor preloaded with your personal keyfile would work fine too (for what appears to be flying in F4 BMS with just a keyboard).
Thanks,

guys,
please note that several callbacks have been removed or renamed.I recommend you double check your keyfiles before trying to use them on 4.33.
if possible, redo them, doesn’t take that long -

if possible, redo them, doesn’t take that longDownloading still, has kolbes work been updated in the new version?
-
Yes, and all new documents to support them.
-
Excellent! Im sure it wont take long to adapt to the changes then!
-
Ok Kolbe Q for ya. Here are two callbacks I had assigned on 4.32.
SimNextAAWeapon 1013 0 0X1C 0 0 0 1 “Wpn-A to A cycle hardpoints”
SimNextAGWeapon 1014 0 0XE 0 0 0 1 “Wpn-A to G cycle hardpoints”Now I do see
SimNextAGWeapon -1 0 0xE 4 0 0 1 “SHORT: Next AG Weapon”
In the new keyfile but I am not seeing the AA one. Was that removed or just an oversight?
If it was an oversight is the code still in 4.33 to install the SimNextAAWeapon into the keyfile?
-
Yes, SimNextAGWeapon can still be used.
But be warned.
It will be removed in the future as it is identical to SimMissileStep, which is the correct function to use here (MSL Step button on the stick).
That it is not in the key files is fully intended. So better switch to SimMissileStep now.
