Custom Modded Folder 4.32
-
Should be the stock dds numbers, I just replaced the .dds with my skins. I’m not in front of my machine, I’m at work right now. I will check when I get home.

He COULD tell you…
But - then he’d have to kill you.

@pyroperson87:
For my own curiosity, what is the problem/conflict?
1. If you install any add-on theaters, you will have an invisible cockpit after switching to the add-on theater.
2. The cockpit uses some .dds that conflict with other mods and skins in the folder (texture conflicts).
3. If you uninstall the HUD mod it will rollback all other mods that you have installed beforehand (and there are alot of add-on’s and skins). SO… you have to install the HUD mod first, THEN install all other mods and skins. You can image how many times I had to start from scratch when I find a conflict with HUD mod and another add-on. This was part of the major delay in this release. -
Thank you Pyro for the info. I have tried what you have suggested but it seems that some of the textures that are conflicting are across multiple objects. It just became not worth it after while. Plus I cannot get around the invisible cockpit in other theaters, that is more of an issue than the first for me (again we want the mod to be FULLY compatible with a stock BMS install as well). I have not given up on the hud, however for this release, I’m not going to include it until I figure these issues out. Plus it’s been long enough that people have been waiting for the release. At this point I’m putting finishing touches and testing for release.

ACDATA folder - Location: Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Sim
@ Rthorflech
What exactly have you changed in the ACDATA folder??? Please elaborate in detail as this is very crucial… read below why.
Are you aware, that if you overwrite BMS files (SIM folder), that this might lead to alot of confusion and probable corruption generally - multiplayer- and cross-installs-wise.
The SIM folder is THE established standard by BMS at the moment and used among ALL theaters out there, even if you haven´t changed any perfomances (FM, missiles etc).UNLESS a dedicated SIM folder will be made available for individual theaters (like : Add-on Theater XXXX/SIM) … i would highly recommend NOT to “mess around” with peoples installs, changing globally used and needed files under their BMS/SIM file structure.
I fully understand, that many theater builders and modders have the desire to make their “own” part, but please keep in mind, NOT to change or overwrite globally used BMS standard files…or we might end up in a huge mess (everyone with different files and installs while trying to play together on MP etc etc).
The objects folder is solveable…as you can create your OWN theater as an “Add-ON Rthorflechs´Theater” i.e… and sub-order YOUR terrdata/object under that. Nor are the skins a problem as long you keep your KoreaObj folder under YOUR Add-ON structure. The SIM folder currently is not transport-able under any ADD-ON theater extenstion, thus globally and commonly critical files used from within the own BMS source file structure (SIM) - but this might change in future (4.33).
Please don´t misunderstand my post….but what you are doing can be HIGHLY dangerous because of the reasons above….therefore…please elaborate, what changes exactly you have done to the BMS install under ACDATA???
-
Jan-Has 's models require you to add his .dat files to the ACdata folder for the models that you install. That’s about it. Most of the other add-on do not require any .dat files. I think the only other model besides JanHas was the Mig23 from Hayab. I was considering adding engine sounds to the F-18 and the F-15’s .dat as they currently do not have any sound besides afterburner, but I haven’t done that yet.

Any chance of releasing a version without the conflicting HUD mod and later release a version with the HUD problem solved?

Not 1 person is worried about that.
Need not to assume, that they will be using your theater/server. All simdata should be updated and revised IMO. With exception to the F-16/M2000

Sounds more like your “1 person” opinion.
Well, for individual and “independent” (in quotes) projects or for “my own falcon version” crusades it is probably no worry whatsoever, but you can bet, that the BMS Dev team itself is worried about those things for good reasons.
Freedom for 3rd party developments is indeed not a bad thing, but there is also something called “community responsibility”, meaning it is at least wise to put a disclaimer on those installers, so people are aware before overwriting their stock game and/or files.PS: Got bored and poking a bit hah?
-
If they were worried about something they would say it and most probably secure it. They are clear, they support only vanilla install, giving this unique freedom to moders and the community to experiment with and learn - provide - share, which brought Falcon to its current state. Something if I’m not mistaken u A.S did also.
-
Again as I stated in the first post:
My goal is to design an upgraded custom folder which will be fully compatible with a stock BMS install. This is the reason why I have left out alot of wonderful add-ons, and how I go about deciding which skins and models make the cut. The intent is to have the user fly as an upgraded stock folder with out ANY conflict with a default install. This is why I have been able to fly with others to this point without any conflicts.

Or just seperate the “DATA/Sim” folder into stock and “Add-on xxx Sim” so you guys can play in our own “sandbox”
Arty you are right, but having sooo many modders and projects, things sometimes can get messy (conflicts ??!??!?)…that´s all i am saying.
Falcon Online users do not have a problem with this in futre (validation), but others might have - maybe. -
Well sure things would be better as some squads have their own setup and messing with those will result in a pain.
Another thing ( posted earlier) is check wether the files exist in the theater folder then if not use the stock. -
-
So just to clarify, there is no download available at the moment?
-
Rthorflech, maybe you can release the current state of your mod folder. Let’s enjoy your efforts for the months/weeks to come before 4.33 is released to the community.

So - just to clarify: are you seeking clarification that there is no download available at the moment…?

All, I will be releasing early next week
