Korea '80s Theater

Good work, the more mirrors the better.

@ Blu3wolf…
If it’s being hosted on the same domain using FTP or password protected directories will not change the throttling.
If it’s a shared hosting solution, the provider will definitely throttle all clients once your BW footprint goes up from the casual mb every now and then.

Cheers for the advice Khronik. I have been advised otherwise by my provider however, so I intend to at least give it a try first.
As the sites traffic is measured in gigabytes daily and terabytes annually, I would hope that it exceeds a casual mb every now and then.
EDIT: seems to work without interruption using the ftp, although with the rather irksome caveat that you need supply a username to get the file (again, [email protected] suffices). Apologies again for the confusion.

I’ve made a vanilla U7 install and applied the '80’s mod. For some reason there was no config directory, so I copied the config directory of another BMS install into the '80’s one (which I always do when making a new install) but for some strange reason in setup the game doesn’t see the content of the config folder (callsign files, keystroke file), so I get stuck with Viper as pilot and standard keystroke settings which don’t apply to my setup. Is there any way to correct this?
-
Have you looked in the logbook drop down to see if your pilot is available??

Yep, only ‘Viper’ is present.
I uninstalled the lot and made a fresh install: again no config directory. Copying it from another install makes no difference.
-
at least you can get it onto your system……mine wont let it

Hmm, strange. But then again, these things happen when mods are released that screw with the core files!!! Really don’t understand why ppl wish to do this. Just makes more things complicated!!

Not really: I have also no config directory on a vanilla install (without the '80’s mod). And an added config directory makes no difference ingame (setup).
-
I applied this to a non vanilla BMS and it worked fine, no clue why it would not be the same on a vanilla BMS.

Hi guys
With permissions from great Molni i will try to help you with install this theater :
Sooooo……
1. Download JSGME from this link https://copy.com/2a6VFpJFg0QgEWvH
2. Download Korea '80 theater from this links:https://copy.com/LBAfNw8DktPWaTn8 - main theater
https://copy.com/TBD2fW8C88qqyrza - trees
https://copy.com/S0gxnf1yzHmzszxc - particles mod3. First activate main theater and then (of course if you want ) trees or/and particles
And please remember - this theater contains changes in sim data folder. So if you want to play other theaters or multiplayer - please deactivate it!!!
More infos about JSGME you can find in this thread: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?20251-JSGME-for-BMS-simply-mod-manager
-
Edit: because my config folder problem isn’t related to Molni’s mod, I’ve asked my question in the general ‘technical problems’ forum. No need to answer it here anymore.

Hello molni,
Your work on SAM is very impressive. I have however some serious doubts on your IR AAM modifications. What are the seeker ranges of the following missiles :- MICA IR
- R.550-2 Magic II
- AIM-9X
- AIM-9M
- R-27T & ET
- R-73 ?

PM is sent.
BTW MICA IR and AIM-9X is not used in campaigns.

Yes sure, but I find interesting to use your theater on ‘modern’ TEs, considering all the work done on many aspects.

Nice job, thank you!

Can someone tell me why I even bothered to waste my time making an installer for this?
The main reason for me taking up the project was to ensure no one has corrupted installs, and hence the install/backup/uninstall routine I designed for this theater.
If your gonna distribute this theater as a folder and have people do the chicken dance I’m not really sure why an installer was requested in the first place.

For people like me who appreciate your work and do not want to do the chicken dance.:D

Well much appreciated but…
How will you be able to tell who installed Korea 80s using the installer, and those using the Chicken Dance Manager?
If build integrity is the goal, this is not the right way to go about it. Pick one method and go with it, not 2.
