Trouble getting controller to work correctly
-
Hello,
Recently started up BMS after a long time away and I am having difficulty getting my controller to function correctly. I use Jamslingers profile for x52 Pro. What I think has happened is that my original BMS keyfile is messed up. The profile is designed to use the BMS keyfile but that does not work in game. When I load the BMS keyfile and compare the keys to what Jamslingers keyboard print out shows it is not the same. If I load gunny’s keys, I get a much better match up but still not correct. Any ideas? thanks.

Get someone to send you the original keyfiles?
re-install bms?
use an x52 pro profile with included key file?
Make your own X52 pro keyfile? (if you choose this option, PM me your email adress. I have some docs that make it easier… its non-DX though) -

Try this one Mate. That’s what I started with and found it to be quite painless to get up and running.
Word of advise. . Rename both files to your call sign and save the originals. Until you FULLY understand the keyfile/profile dance, its quite easy to muck things up when trying to make small adjustments.
Overall. . I think you’ll find that setup satisfactory -
Thanks all. I did end up using Hard-Deck’s profile. Really not sure what happened as previous to updating to u7, I was using u2, Jammers profile worked flawlessly.

If you’re interested in a DX command version (that originally started with Hard~Deck’s profile), I’ve made (and use) one for the X-52 Pro. For the most part it takes the Saitek keyboard emulation out of the equation. FYI.

I looked at yours as well. Haven’t had time to understand what a dx version means if I want to make changes. In one way it looks easier….

The easiest way I can describe is that the HOTAS is mapped directly to BMS commands. Push HOTAS button, BMS executes command.
Without using DX, like for example Hard~Deck’s profile, you use a ‘middle-man’ (Saitek software) to imitate a keyboard press. Push HOTAS Button, interpret to simulate keyboard press, BMS receives keyboard press, keyboard press executes BMS command.
DX is a much more direct way to access the BMS command. It is basically the same as mapping the HOTAS buttons (not the keyboard press, but the HOTAS button presses) manually in the setup screen.
