Getting BMS 2D screen to go full screen in Windowed mode
-
As far as I’m aware, no.
The 2D/UI screen is limited to 1024 x 768 pixels in the code.

Thanks for the quick reply Darkman.
When I run the game in full screen mode, the 2D screens take up the entire screen real estate on my 1920x1080 monitor by likely chopping down the resolution of my monitor automatically when it starts. When the 3D screen then runs, if changes my resolution back to 1920x1080 and everything is fine. But when I run it in windowed mode, is seems the 2D screen is limited to the dimensions you specify probably because it doesn’t touch my monitor resolution - the 2D portion is forced to live within a 1920x1080 resolution and it sticks to its 1024x768 size, hence the smaller size. Yet the 3D screen runs fine at my 1920x1080 and scales its window up without issue.
I guess I could change my monitor resolution to something smaller when I start the game, but I’m thinking that the 3D portion would be impacted by this decision. I would really like to increase the size of the map and the menu options on my screen as they are a little too small for my liking, but I may be out of luck with it running in windowed mode. If there was some way to force the windowed 2D screen to change my monitor resolution to something it likes, just like the 3D screen does, my problem would be solved.
I’m continuing to hope that there is workaround for this! Any and all feedback is welcomed!

Like Darkman said above.
But, you can center it if you wish. Look in your FalconBMS.cfg file for set g_bCenterUI 0 and change it to 1 It is near the end of the “Misc Settings”. That’s about all you can do as far as I know.

Which video card & driver?
Seems to me, that it can be done through driver settings……

Which video card & driver?
I have a GeForce GTX670 running 64-bit NVIDIA drivers (ver. 347.09). I’m intrigued at what you have in mind, Badger.
I found a utility that resizes windowed-mode windows to full screen. While this solves my graphical problem, the mouse X and Y coordinates are used for menu selection. So if I stretch the window to 1920x1080, the menu items are moved but can only be accessed at their lower-resolution coordinates. This obviously causes no problems if the monitor switches to a lower resolution, but you cannot simply resize the window into a larger resolution because of the coordinates - your in-game mouse thinks it’s bounded in a smaller space and all the menus are difficult to access because of the resolution offset.
By the way, all I am trying to do is run my MFDs on my Cougars and mini-monitors. I am using BMS’ MFD extraction in windowed mode, but perhaps using something like Lightning’s MFDE would side-step around this issue. The problem stems from a windowed mode low-res intro screen running on a high resolution monitor. If MFDE works without having to go to windowed mode, then problem solved! I have no experience with MFDE and would welcome some tips from any of you who use it. Thanks!

With the system I have now, I run the MFDE over a network.
The network rig used to be my primary with 2 GTX 260 Cards and good old 306.97 drivers, which I still use but 347.09 sounds promising.
Anyway back then I was having the same kind of problem as you.
I went into NVidia control panel and found the adjust desktop size and position tab and then played around with the scaling settings.
I think no scaling was the one that worked best but, not sure.
Also, I don’t think I ever got the ui full screen but did get it much larger and readable.
Worth a try I guess.
Also, you might try different versions of the MFDE some work on some rigs better than others.
Further, if your just after MFD extraction, there is also GPT which worked very well for me and did not have the “flicker” problem that I was getting with MFDE.
Good Luck, you’ll get it. -
I use MFDE and fullscreen mode. MFDE has a lot better frame rates for me than BMS. The flicker is for a half second every 2-3 minutes. Never caused a problem, worth the fps IMO. A new version of MFDE is being made for 4.33 I heard. GPT does not work with SLI AFR2. AFR2 setting on my rig doubles my frame rates so GPT a no go for me.

In the end, I set up GPT 0.2 and everything works great - I have my MFDs set up properly and it runs in full screen. Thanks for all the pointer and tips, they really helped!

The movie and the GUI are still set to the old original settings and playbacks but as posted they can be centred. Using full screen window youll no doubt notice that part of the bottom of the screen disappears behind the menu bar and that the mouse will occasionally get stuck n the window, Alt Tab to shift the mouse out to desktop or to another program. Just keep an eye on the plane it has a tendancy to shut the throttle and go into AI mode once you check out and do its own thing usually vertically. lol
This is advice its up to you if you wish to use it or not.
