Meh, in an F-16 sim, Carrier Ops is not exactly of a paramount importance… and I’m speaking as a huge fan of France’s Aéronavale.
Since JP is the one coding those with the AFM, I think he’s well aware of how the carrier behaves.
And BTW, thanks for the vote of confidence…
I have the up-most confidence in the BMS team and 4.33, except for,perhaps,maybe Biker……(Joke M8 :mrgreen:)
As far as carrier ops…you guy’s introduced it into this F-16 SIM called BMS……we are just pushing it’s envelope A bit…chuckle!
As well, I admire Mav’s work more then he\we\you may think. He has done well in pushing the AFM’s to conform to the Falcon code for Hard Coded FM’s. I hope he continues this exhausting work, it is NOT easy, this I know very well from an A10 some where else in FalconDemer

I never flew off the boat, but my understanding is that when jets take off from the boat they usually have an airfield they can bingo to if the carrier weather is too bad. The weather forecast will drive their fuel minimums, how close they have to be to an alternate field (and that field’s weather), and so on.
They’ll also have a tanker(s) up in case the jets have trouble getting aboard. Probably.

I have been playing with this in 9c:
just to see how it is handled in BMS 4.32. She seems to support tessellation better than say smoothing. Mesh smoothing and poly smoothing adds 1K+ polys. This method adds about 1/8th the polys. I have done a few missiles and the 370 gas bag in GUAM. The results are promising:
This is as far as I am going to go with it ATM. Others can take the Easter Egg and run with it. I may apply it to some other,bigger Cylindrical model just to see where we end up Poly wise.

How long did they work on 4.32??? 6 years or so……LOL!!! I remember and have the 2009 CODE from CVS…they went much farther

About “working campaign” … the last RF 4 R1 ran 24 days on FOF MP without a single crash!! - ever seen that before in F4s history?
…and im sure “photoreal elements” will even please you in the next version … I follow the forums …and the theaters being worked on or released by others…
…and while remembering also where we started… well… from our current standpoint… i can say i am very satisfied with what we are able to accomplish on totally different global-, detail- and quality-level. So yeah, thanks you concerns -

As far as GUAM ending, probably never in the Falcon world. It is not just a small island project. It is a Launch Pad for concepts and a base to proof them in.
I never intended it to be anymore than that
For the Ground War, there are concepts from GUAM being introduced elsewhere in the Falcon Theater world…we will have to wait for their release.
GUAM is a Total Air War and will remain so for the time being.Congrats on FO’s last run of RF. I looked in a couple of times and it seemed to be going well!! Keep at it…… I look forward to your next work.

Finally got the Sim Data issue corrected……Guam will use the Stock BMS Sim Data, FTM… period.
Not the Path I would like to take…but, so be it.
Took me some time to correct the DB’s to it……Hmmphf!
As a result the Frankenstein F-15’s now work in Guam:AGAIN, the F15 in Guam is a mix of many peep’s work.

Well not……LOL. Seems the Stoopid AI wants to move TO operations to the other ABase(Guess that one is into the wind DJ), so when they taxi across the Hitbox to the other carrier ABase they fall into the sea…ROTFLMAO!!! It was a good try M8’s, but the ATM reared her ugly head again.

BUT, no textures were harmed in the conversion from solArmys\ArmySouls work. In fact Wavey, no textures are used…LOL!!

Soooo…here is the conversion from his .skp to .3ds from Rhino(Python….U need to write a Script)) to .obj for 3DSMAX to .lod from 3DSMAX…HAHAHA…Huge model and lots of loss in the .mtl if I don’t do it this way. Me so Stoopid’ is there an easier way modellers,PM me???
Reinstall of MAX took care of it……jeez…cool…LOL!!!A LOT going on here, first the abort (TAG) by the AI, that is not my wingman flying over me. He is Inbound from another flight, he aborted due to my CAT launch. Seems Code sez’ TO or Trap or not. In RL thats how we operate, we have a launch sequence than a recover sequence.
Second the Side CAT launch for “Joe Player” is Single only ATM……Sorry… Tried 9 ways to Sunday = +80 hours to get HER to be cooperative in 4.32, NOGO…can do IF you strip the Unit\Squad down to one vehicle, but that is NOT what we should have to do.
We’ll see in 4.33 maybe?? DUNNO, its a Point thing me thinks.
Third, the model being rendered in game is over 200’000 TRI’s, but as it is “At Sea” the FPS hit is minimal.Closer to the PR terrain it drops to ~50fps.Still an acceptable level for 9c…Regards,
