Pillars of Hercules Theater Beta 0.7.0 RELEASED

Any chance for a “Non Mega” download for the higher rez tex?
Will not dl from a site that asks to install stuff first.
You mean it request other browser that IE, right?… It´s due to the size.
Well, at least it doesn´t ask to install “weird” soft, but a “somehow” better web browser. Chrome shouldn´t give you trouble at all, and you may even like it.
Sorry for not being much of a help. Hosting without killing our own dropbox and such services is tricky.
Hope you´ll understand.

Brilliant !

Thanks flyway! Thanks for the sentiment agalnov.
Cheers chaps. Now I can bust through the Med in BMS as well.

PS: On another note: Exe install does not work for me: I would personally be much obliged for manual instructions. And the Theatredefinition name, if I overread that one.
Thank you. Already unpacked the data package, but it does not work under the theatre name I chose.
Also the instructions for textures are quite confusing to me.

~S~Your POH installation should be on the typical theatre folder called “C:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Add-on Spain-Portugal”
The texture folder once you have it decompressed sould have a folder named exactly the same: “Add-on Spain-Portugal”
Now just copy the content from this one to the installaion one (both with the same name… so it wiil ask for mix folders and overwrite files)
Then, in the"C:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Add-on Spain-Portugal\Terrdata\terrain" you will find several files… You have to DELETE the folowing:
TERRAIN.BIL, TERRAIN.HDR, TERRAIN.NRM, TERRAIN.SBI, TERRAIN.TIDDon´t worry, thay will be created again once you run BMS with POH again.
Pretty estándar stuff if you look a bit into the folders structure/names… It´s easy to figure it out.
Hope this will do the trick, and sorry for the installer… Joe never found an issue while betatesting… but you are not the only one… Maybe it will be good for future releases if you specify OS and other data to help Joe with this issues.
Thanks and hope you´ll enjoy you rides over this wonderfull Joe work!!

Well, to the base installer, not the textures add-on in high res, my decompressed download of POH 0.7.0.0.zip shows in it the “Data” folder named POH 0.7.0.0. and the installer. I tried to unzip the entire installer and work from there, as the installer did not work for me.
Unfortunately on my gaming rig I still run XP. As of March that will be WIn/ as well. Now just copy the content from this one to the installaion one (both with the same name… so it wiil ask for mix folders and overwrite files)
Copy that, that I tried. Only my install was bugged from the start. Then, in the"C:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Add-on Spain-Portugal\Terrdata\terrain" you will find several files… You have to DELETE the folowing:
TERRAIN.BIL, TERRAIN.HDR, TERRAIN.NRM, TERRAIN.SBI, TERRAIN.TID
I did most certainly not have those, I had: THEATER.L2, theater.map, theater.mea, THEATER.O2.Don´t worry, thay will be created again once you run BMS with POH again.
Pretty estándar stuff if you look a bit into the folders structure/names… It´s easy to figure it out.

First thanks for responding agalnov and thanks again for this beautiful theatre to the entire team! I will tackle your reply with a few lines marked with green for your response and blue for my associated comments.
Well done theatre for sure, only the installer simply left stuff out and exited.
What I do need, is the following: Name of the theatre.IST line to add.
Description of how to manually install the theatre.
And a final info on why as per installer info there have to be bin files renamed, that is a first, and I fly Falcon theatres since 2008. And bug my installs often enough, so I gladly learn new tricks. I know what the instruction roughly means as for files, I only wonder why there has to be a seperation this time, but well, I am long of the loop in Falcon.
Thanks a lot gentlemen. No disrespect intended and I look forward to it.
:bowd:
PS:
As for the bin files, I related to this instruction:
"If you want to fully enjoy the water BMS and also night textures POH must (in the folder: Add-on Spain-Portugal \ Terrdata \ texture):-In daytime missions: copy-paste “texture_day mission.bin” and replace “texture.bin”
-In night missions and sunrise / sunset: copy-paste “mission.bin texture_sunsetsunrise & night” and replace “texture.bin”
"Cheers
Tom

There must be something I don´t understand with the issues you are having, for sure, so excuse me if I come again with same directions, that won´t work for you… Sure I missing something … Still, I´ll try:
-
Once you decompress the theatre you should have “Pillars of Hercules Theater 0.7.0.0.exe” and “Data.7z”
-
If the installer doesn´t work (wich does not), decompress the “Data.7z” files (with 7z or winrar), and you will get a folder named “POH0.7.0.0” (Inside you´ll find the typical Art,Campaign, Docs…)
-
Rename “POH0.7.0.0” folder to “Add-on Spain-Portugal”
-
Copy/Move it to the usual BMS Theatres folder (…\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data) So now it will end like this : “…\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Add-on Spain-Portugal” with all on it.
-
Use the Theatre list entry: “Add-on Spain-Portugal\theaterdefinition\POH.tdf”
That´s all
About deleting “TERRAIN.BIL, TERRAIN.HDR, TERRAIN.NRM, TERRAIN.SBI, TERRAIN.TID”… well, you are right. As you never run POH, you don´t have them yet.
As for the bin files, I related to this instruction:
"If you want to fully enjoy the water BMS and also night textures POH must (in the folder: Add-on Spain-Portugal \ Terrdata \ texture):Here I cannot help at all…. I never did it. I just fly it as is with no such changes. Sorry.
Keep it up!

Thanks a bunch Agalnov, that was exactly what I was asking for and tomorrow after work I will get to the install again.
Already made me notes for myself as readme from your tips.
Cheerio!

My experience:
The POH intaller installs only a empty Addon Spain-Portugal foldert, even though it seems working correct. After extracting zip file nr.001 there is a new zip file and the exe file. Only extract the new zip file to the empty Addon Spain-Portugal folder and adjust the theaterdefinition data\terrdata\theaterdefinition\theather.lst.
Woooow…thanks for this Scenery Addon  -
Weel, thanks to agalnov the install worked. Wow, so many new theatres…
Cheers

Any chance to have the add-on files in non Mega download ways?
I logged in to Mega and find it highly uncomfortable tbh. With mediafire there was never a need to install anything, this stuff is too invasive to my taste and also downloads so far have not worked. Thanks, I was seeking the high res texture pack (512x512 and 256x256 night tiles)-
CheersTom
-
P.S.
I apologize if this question has been answered before! -
I see… There is only one link from Mega.
I also kind of dislike it, but with Chrome you can download it no sweat… still you have to install something (Chrome)…
Sorry for the inconvenience.
I´m going to updload this on my Dropbox (starting friday 25th 16:00Z)… and leave it for a few days. Hope you can download it.
-
Thanks a lot!
The file seems to work! -
Do i need to install all textures or just the full pack does the job???
-
The Full pack includes all flavours….
LOW RES 128: day textures 128 px, night textures 64 px (48Mb)
LOW RES 256: day textures 256 px, night textures 128px (DEFAULT)(170Mb)
HI RES 512: day textures 512 px, night textures 256px (660Mb)
HI RES 1024 : day textures 1024px, night textures 512px (3Gb)
VERY HI RES 1024 NIGHT: night textures 1024px (370Mb)You can download them all at once… or just the one you think best suits you.
Joe includes all of them IOT let all the people enjoy it, even with old PC Hardw.Only one of them could be used at the same time, of course.
