This is a learning project I want to do to see if I can create a new terrain.
If anyone wants to correct me or add input is more than welcome! It is the first time I try to do this… so I am not sure of the correct path.
I will keep updating the first post with the process. By now this is a not very detailed log, I will try to expand on each section as I go.
So far:
Getting Cuba e00 data out of the .adf data - (uploaded to the project folder)
Generating files with Dem2Terrain using Joe’s global .hdr and Lazystones korea.pal - (uploaded to the project folder)
To be able to open the global.hdr using Dem2Terrain you need to mark Dem2Terrain as the designated aplication that opens .HDR files. If you simply open Dem2Terrain and choose “open file” this wont work; It won’t do anything.
Be sure to mark the 4bits theater, since BMS does not work with the 2 bits old ones.
Best to change your size to something that fits you to locate the center where you want to.
Also, if you change units to Kilometers and resolution to 0.25 you get tiles of exactly 1km wide x 1km long instead of 0,99something of a km. Pretty cool to make your life easy on any photorealistic thing you want to achieve. (Thanks Manos!)
You will need to be sure to add each e00 you got from step 1 one by one to D2T.

If everything is fine so far you should be able to open your terrain with TerrainEditor
10) Create GUANTANAMO.THR and save it to Add-On Guantanamo\Campaign using TerrainEditor:
11) Importing from my Dem2Terrain generated objectives .csv by:
* Opening Save0.cam with Mission Commander (MC) and deleting all Objectives and Units. Then saving this file to the 73 format (Marking the 73 Tick)
* Opening Save0.cam with TacEdit. Going to ObjList and importing objectives from the D2T generated .csv, then saving. Will ask to save my WCH. Do so also, but not as Korea.wch, but as "guantanamo.wch" in my case.
12) Changing the theater name for my save0.cam under the "campaing" label using MC - 1 change, 2 apply change and 3 save as version 100.
13) Reload my guantanamo.wch at objt Strigns in order for my Cuban names to susbtitute my Korean ones. Then save again.
14) Export objectives from save0 using MC to all the other .cams and tac. Specially te_new.tac to be able to create your own tacs using the Tactican Engament Engine in the sim. This time no need to revert versions and go to TacEdit. Export/import objectives using MC from save0 to the other files.
15)Export/Import the units from Koreas save0 to the save0.cam in your theater. DONT IMPORT YOUR UNITS TO te_new.tac.Then assign some present in your theater airbases to the imported squadrons.

Ok, I have checked actual lat/long of theater center for POH weather.ini:
Timezone 1
Latitude 34
Longitude 11
This was my bad, because I used the real lat/longs instead of the terrain ones.
This wont change that sunset is (after changing weather.ini to that data) 18:46 lt , this will just show accurate sunrise/sunset times in the weather page.
One could set gmt +2 by changing the “Timezone” to “2”, which will make things more close to reality by delaying sunset to 19:45 lt, but would be quite unrealistic IMO considering that actually Maroc, Algeria and Spain, even though they are gmt+1, are inside what should be gmt.
@JetNoise2 , feel free to post any bug related stuff for POH in our corresponding subforum… I am afraid we are hijacking this thread for a third-party theater issue… and perhaps we shouldn’t. And I know I am more guilty than you on this, sorry everyone.

As Mav-JP stated, in-game sunrise and sunset are linked to theater lat/long data.
POH does not have negative longitudes for the terrain, so the western border begins with longitude of 0°.
I was told by my vet partners that the engine can’t use negative values for lat/long coordiates…. Thus, creating this missmatch.
If you want to fix this for yourself I guess you could find out what longitude is set for the center of the theater and change the weather.ini with that longitude.
(That will, however, mess up with the local times/zulu times relation. I guess is a tradeoff. One or the other… i guess…)
Edit: Actually not true, relation is still correct as long as Timezone is correct, so, no tradeoff.
Will give it a try myself, though.

Just wonder whether it is also compatible with U2?
It is compatible.

On a sidenote, probably it was not 5.16 but an earlier version because it only offered two versions of files (v73, and v100) while 5.16 offers three options. If 4.34 files don’t work either you may have to roll back to an older version of MC… but I highly doubt MC is not backwards compatible.
If it wasn’t, the developer wouldn’t have left the v73 tick.
Another possibility is to look for the original F4 save0.cam files ( you may have already a copy of old f4, needed to install BMS), open directly in TacEdit and from there first try to convert directly to actual 4.35.
(i.e. I have mine at c/program files(x86)/steam/steamapps/common/Falcon 4.0/campaign/save)
To convert this files you may need to have 4.33 (uses v73), or even both 4.33 and 4.34 (uses v100) if converting directly from 4.33 to 4.35 (uses v103) gives failure because converting needs references to the database of each version and I am unsure if you can directly jump from v73 to v103 (Although I would try that first If I were you)

Hi Silverius, I did this using MC 5.16 with 4.34 files.
If 4.35 files can’t reopen if saved to v73…(hope you backed the files ) then I guess you are going to need older version files.
I have not tried this method directly on 4.35 files. But you can use MC to upgrade the 4.34 files to 4.35 files using the ,“convert mission” tab in MC

Thanks to the admins for moving POH out of the Legacy forum!!!
Please, could you be so kind to make this post a sticky and unstick the older versions and hotfix ones??

For curiosity, why this Spain + Portugal (Iberia) is not in Europe sub-forum ? and its in Legacy?!? imho is also better be called as “Iberia” than “Spain” because it fully includes Portugal and Spain and that full region is Iberia. Also if you want to fly realistically with the F16 (the core aircraft of BMS) in this theater you should fly by Portuguese Air Force instead of Spanish Air Force.
As so, this sub forum, should be in Europe forum section and in the name Iberia.
I agree with you mostly.
It Also has whole Maroc and part of Algeria, so those two are not in Europe.
I guess is in legacy because it was not updated to 4.35 until not too long.
Also, Moroccan forces use the F16 as their primary fighter.

Please feel free to report any issues with theater or installer in the bugs post.
Without seeing the Installer Script hard to say.
But I have seen from other theaters that use an installer was issue with no newline on the last entry in the theater.lst
I guess that could append the new line to an old line screwing both? Would it be the a safe practise to first inclue a blank new line character then the line?
I am using lstMod_1.1Monster.exe to include the lines (its in the Utils folder)
