What ATI drivers are best please?

Went from 13.12 to 14.4 and went from 34 FPS to maybe 34.5. Hey, 0.5 fps!

Woo Hoo!
“Results may vary” lol

Results will vary with the newer drivers only with the newer cards, and then usually only with the newer software titles in my experience.
13.12 for example was absolutely solid and stable for 7xxx & R9 series cards (while AMD were bringing out innumerable betas trying to get Mantle and frame pacing to work) but clearly Pedro found them a real ‘Goat rope’ for 6xxx cards
Try 'em out and see what works for you is unfortunately still the rule of thumb, though if someone has the same card/setup as you a few screenshots of their settings do help speed up the process too.

Hey thanks for that Darkman, 14.2 driver came with my R9 280 I got today, got a slight drop to 57fps at ‘Mavericks’ training and on the ground with ‘Raining Day’ (all shaders on)……dropped to 13.12 driver and bingo!, 60 big ones,… that’s it then, I’m all sorted now.:)

Red, grab the 14.6 beta drivers from teh ATI site.
The R series cards get a big boost with them. -

The R series cards get a big boost with them.Really?…ok thanks bud, this 13.12 ones running great so nothing to lose I guess, am running i5 at 4.3Ghz, max cpu temp 55c, max gpu temp so far 65c stressed, am over the moon lol, that GTX 570 I had was running way too hot, even in a case with max fans.

I have a 6950 2Gb.
I’ve been using 12.6 and I was quite happy with them regarding Falcon but ARMA3 won’t work.
So I gave a try to 14.4 and ARMA works but Falcon it’s not so smooth anymore.
Before I go and try 13.9, can some one who is using 14.4 and is happy with them share his CCC gaming settings for Falcon?
Thanks!

While ATI stops updating support for old cards, there are some core fixes still worth to have. Especially if X-Plane user.

14.9 has just been released…I know “if it ain’t broke”, but has anyone taken the plunge ?
I’m still on version 13.12 driving a HD7850, but really interested since they now support Eyefinity with different sized monitors, which would mean no more need for SoftTH… -
Anyone know which driver is best for R9 290X in combination with BMS? I use 14.9 now. I get 50-60 when taxing on Kimpo in een empty TE. 60-100 in the air. I heard that is normal behavior. When MFD switched on, they drop to 45. Too bad that’s too low for vsync.
Specs:
i5 2500K 4,2 GHZ
8 GB RAM
MSI ATI R9 290X GAMING 4G -
Makes sense to update. For Windows drivers they don’t release notes about bugs fixed.
